These are my opinions and mine alone so let's keep this thread clean, trade words over the subject in a respective manner.
Manny Losing To Floyd
- Manny already has 5 losses on his record, 3 by KO. Despite being KO'd cold very recently he is still earning a minimum guarantee of $20-$25m which doesn't include additional money from PPV sales, gate etc...
- Manny will continue to make the same amount of money even if Floyd beats him.
- Losing to Floyd people would still be interested in seeing what Manny can muster up against the likes of Thurman, Garcia etc... in entertaining fights.
- May retire to put more time in to being a Congressman.
- Would still be loved by his nation and held as a Icon regardless of his 6th and/or 7th defeat (if he rematched Floyd).
Floyd Losing To Manny Either Once Or 2 Out Of 3
- Loses his 0 which is his biggest marketing tool, it would be a massive nightmare.
- Loses a lot off PPV sales in future PPV's if he decides not to retire from the loss(s).
- Losing to Manny, people won't care how Floyd would do against other fighters such as Thurman, GGG etc... since he's been beat and his 0 is mostly what kept people coming back.
I could have wrote more for each but I think that's enough for now and some of you can add to it if you like.
For me it's clear as day which fighter has more to lose should they fight and lose against one another.
Peace.
Exactly!
Just their over emotional fanboys would be sad.
Both guys are HOFers and it would just mean more money before they retire.
Both have been 1st ballot Hall of famers for over a decade.THEY ARE CERTIFIED ATG'S NOW!!!!!!!!!!
Bullsh1t...either losing to the other wont mean sh1t...there will be an immediate rematch and both will make over 200 million..IMAGINE IF THEY END UP HAVING A TRILOGY???plus Floyd is about to be 38 and Manny is about to be 36..both are well past their prime..

if floyd loses that persona of the "TBE" or boxing wizardry disintigrates and he'll be regarded as a hype job by haters and the casuals which really is majority of boxing fans. people feel there's justice in the world and he'll be remembered as an inferior fighter to pacquiao (which i don't think his fans in here can take)
i honestly don't think the masses care if pacquiao loses, he's supposed to lose this fight on paper and public opinion of him won't change really. He already got KTFO for christ sakes
I don't think it hurts Floyd one bit when it comes to PPV. His 0 has been such a big part of the marketing that everyone would wonder how a loss would affect him losing that 0.
Floyd losing is very important to Floyd, so he can then make a comeback and show his character like Pac did since losing to JMM.
All the greats lost, so before Floyd retires he should make surre he loses, and then comes back stronger and even beat the person who beat him if possible.
It's not the worry about the loss. Listen to the guy himself. The guy was dead honest! It's his HEALTH! The guy feels Pacquiao, loaded with the best Filipino PED's, is a monster! And why should he risk his life to enter the ring with a monster! The guy is absolutely petrified!
for manny it would be his last shot at the huge payday if he lost , if floyd lost i think there would be a rematch on pacs terms and another huge payday for both of them ....
have to wait and see !!!
I don't think any of you read the post properly, either that or you guys have very low IQ's and cannot comprehend what you read. I have already stated the possibility of there being a rematch and rubber match for both in my OP so not sure why some of you mention it as if I've overlooked it.
The point of this thread has obviously flown straight over your heads and this is evident by the very first reply in this thread, this isn't about their age, what they've done in the past but about what happens when one loses to the other and how it affects their future in boxing, quite simple really.

the trilogy isnt happening, if floyd wins he'll retire, if manny wins, he may have one more fight and then retire.
the fact is and some people will go crazy about this, but manny solidified his legacy many years ago, he is an ATG, possibly ranks 20-30 or maybe even higher depending on how you see certain things and has often been rated as the best of his generation. beating mayweather just puts a stamp on that, but imo battering a prime barrera and destroying cotto at welterweight are better wins then a past prime mayweather who almost got beat by maidana.
for mayweather, this fight used to be IT...it's not anymore cos manny is far from prime, just like cotto and mosley. if he wins, yeah some people will hype the win up to ridiculous amounts but as the dust settles, people will see it for what it is. a very good win over a great fighter past his best. mayweather may rise a few spots on people's atg lists but he wont surpass manny.
mannys career does not depend on this, a lot of floyds does.

Yep, if they really fight i assume the rematch will happen afterward
Nothing will happen to Pac.... he goes down to 140 and finishes his career off in the weight he feels most comfortable. No embarrassment since Floyd wouldn't KO him anyways.
For Floyd.... its a whole new world. His twitter/Instagram would be closed down for atleast a week. People get fired, new people get hired... that old chest nut. Then promo until the re-match.

Agree. They are both legends. Even if they lose to an unknown in the future they remain greats.
Besides making more money than either can dream of?
Floyd could lose his "0" which is really just his ego & pride. Even the Greats lost a bout, I don't understand where his mentality comes from. Some nights you have a bad night and lose a fight, it happens.
If Floyd gets dropped, the number of memes & online blowback will be huge.
If you guys saw the post fight press conference after Pac vs CA, everyone was literally laughing at Floyd. Making a joke out of him, and his so called undefeated record.
Manny, even if he loses, will continue to be regarded as one of the best in the world. If he wins, *****s will make excuses like always. "He's old doe. He didn't move like usual. His legs are gone"
Floyd is insecure and be stressed about getting any respect when it comes to Pacquiao and that's without actually fighting him. Imagine, he fights him and gets his sh1t pushed in??? Floyd might commit suicide. I'm not even over exaggerating either. Being honest. Floyd won't be able to handle losing. It would end him.

After reading the OP's post, I was pretty much going to post the same thing. The downside of this fight, for either fighter, is just a drop in the bucket compared to the up side. This will be the richest fight in boxing history. It doesn't matter who looses, because they can have a rematch and make another boat load of money.
