in the uk, they get picked up if they can sell tickets
i heard the amaerican system is a little different
just look at if u can box n hold u on to that
what larryx said.
what you do with your career etc is all on you, you gonna have to network and maybe take some shorts here and there to get put on initially but getting your foot in the right door is all the matters.
That is the one thing that I absolutely love about boxing. Even if you aren't given good fights if you keep winning you will knock on the doors for the big time and no one can stop you. Example: Baldomir.
Unlike team sports where you have to get drafted or even in MMA you have to be signed to a promotion.
missed out, without being treated like a journeyman
You have to have a bargaining chip, so you can negotiate with good promoters who can guide you well and have those connections. This can be amateur back ground or selling tickets. A combination of both is just golden like De La Hoya (no pun intended).
If you're just another kid with 30 or so amateur fights then it is tough. You have to impress in your early pro fights and hope to get picked up by a decent if not top end promoter.

Where have you been have you notice theres many bums who can't box anyone can turn Pro just look at the 31 Boxers that have fought Wilder Probably half of them probably never had an amateur bout
there's a difference between getting a license and being technically a 'professional' and a promoter actually putting you on a boxing card and you getting a real pro fight and getting paid.
