Tyson would be in a world of trouble here. Mike wouldn't be facing an intimidated opponent in Smoke, and he couldn't bank on pre FOTC Frazier getting off to a slow start. Jimmy Ellis did well for two and a half rounds by staying the hell away from Joe, hardly Tyson's style.
If Mike did manage to hurt Joe, Smoke wouldn't stop coming, wouldn't stop getting up if Tyson did manage to floor him for an instant. For every right uppercut Mike attempted, Joe would produce three economically devastating hooks to Mike's head and body. Tyson's overhand right would simply go sailing over Joe's bobbing head. No matter how good Mike's head movement was, that wouldn't prevent Joe from nailing him downstairs. Joe would also be a lot more relaxed than Mike. It helped Tyson that Spinks was tense. Joe wouldn't be wrapped so tight.
Quarry started fast against Joe, in their title fight following the Zyglewicz massacre, pouring in nearly a hundred punches in that opening round, and Jerry could hit. Over 50 of Jerry's hooks went downstairs. But Joe returned fire, with over 60 of his own shots in that opening frame. After just two rounds, Jerry was already tiring. With Ziggy, Joe would take a little step back, and let fly with that hook.
Tyson didn't have the awesome shoving strength of a Foreman, and we're not talking about a post FOTC Frazier here. Frazier could very definitely get out of the opening rounds against Mike, then watch out! Unlike Joe, once Tyson went down, he wouldn't be able to beat the count.
Frazier KO 13 Tyson

Frazier KO 13 Tyson
mike by ko/tko...
if foreman can make a bouncing ball frazer, then mike can, too....
The biggest advantage I see Frazier having is the level of his opposition was clearly stronger than Tyson. However, more often than not, like Tyson, Frazier would lose to his top opposition... Speed, power, ferocity, offense, defence, two handed punching power -ALL to Tyson. Only chance Frazier has? If Tyson were stupid enough to stand and trade left hooks. Otherwise it's a shoot out with multiple knock downs before the final KO.
Well honestly I don't have any objections to anything you've written in this post. It was a good post.
As I said, I wouldn't knock him on anything that he did good, or righteous.
I extended myself saying he hit women, and discovered I was wrong.
Damn you were owned in this thread.
Also dont forget tyson looked up to ali and tried to be like him. alot of the things tyson did he learned from watching ali and the way ppl looked up to him...
Ali went against the wrong things,,,he may have been overly aggressive in hsi beliefs but its because he had strong principles and didnt break it for anyone. He didnt hate whites, he hated alot of things that lots of white ppl stood for like anti semitism. HE ouspoke against them publically an promoted equallity even if it made him seem like he hates white ppl, when he hated anti blacks just like they hate him....the only difference with ali is he stood for equality and they stood for segregation......he also had alot of white friends not to mention almost his whole corner is white and he is friends with lots of white public figures.
He also refused to kill innocent ppl in vietnam just because uncle sam wanted him to even if it meant going to prison wich he was prepared for, why would you go fight another mans war jsut because the government says?....he refused and stood his ground and that inspired ppl who also had those beliefs, if i was asked to go kill ppl that havent dont anything to me i would also refuse....thats why is important.
And if youre going to try and say something about him and his family the worst thing he ever did was cheat on his wives and was married multiple times, other than that he took great care of his kids and is still has good relatonships wuth his ex...
The fact you are trying to say such nonsense about a great man and boxer is just ridiculous and stupid....if you dont like him ok.....just dont try to pick him apart as if he wasnt the man he is

You most certainly did not! You said Ali would say in clinches that his brothers would come for him, as if in a threatening sense.
Ali said in that interview that he would tell white fighters that the black panthers were there, and was clearly joking.
I know you dislike him, it's quite strange how a guy like you can have such feelings for a guy who fought before you were even born.
You do hate him. Everytime a thread is made about past fighters, you always have to turn it on Ali and your 200 lbs + fighters and this and that. Same old shyt different day.
I've read your blog and it stinks of personal vendetta.
Yeah yeah, you don't stand a chance, they'll burn your house down, you left that part out ;) Yes it MAY have been joking but of course when suspect incidences actually occur in fights, like flopping, then it lends to speculation. Or aren't we allowed to speculate on your favourite fighter now?
Yeah I have made some key threads addressing the great OTNB issues. However you'll find most of them lately, in fact it's been months since I have, have been initiated by maybe not you but some of your kind if you will. I have merely gone on those threads after witnessing a bit of circle jerk, offered my opinion laced with a few facts and BOOM, it's on again. That's a bit different from making constant threads of my own about it.
The main reason I think we keep coming back to Ali is because he is woven so deeply into the Golden Age mythology. Frazier here's entire fame is built around him as are the other greats from that era. So a discussion involving him becomes inevitable eventually doesn't it.
Your involvement of Klitschko was completely unnecessary here however by contrast, you see. I tell you I didn't like him and personally don't care about his out of ring escapades until some people try to goddify him. You can think of him any way you please really there, just don't try to sell me a Christmas present though. For me its his in ring performance that is relevant.
If you call that kind of stuff "owning" then you must be into the hip hop culture my friend because I simply find him trying to be intimidating and overbearing, that's all.
Sorry Ali wasn't prepared with a scripted comeback.
Listen. If we want your opinion, we'll throw you a nut. Until then, let people who know about boxing discuss matters. :lol1:
If you go back, as always, you will find that the path was led here not by myself, I merely went along for the ride.
As for race issues, you will never find a single racially motivated post of mine ever.
In fact I am constantly defending against it!
And as for boxing I have forgotten more than you know of it.
you think joe frazier is only a step above marvis ... you must have forgotten a lot

Now you are free to question my comments and correct me when I am wrong but you never call me a liar again.
I simply call it how I see it.
I have never heard such outright racism tolerated anywhere else to this level.
You trying to tell me he wasn't racist, despite being in a racist cult and friends with these other guys is outrageous.
You think am biased and hate him, I think you are biased and in MAN LOVE with him.
One of us has a tattoo of him on ourselves don't they?
Perhaps it's YOU who is biased and IM merely being objective!
We understand but when you "see it" with an extra chromosome and an IQ of 45 that could be a problem son....Stick to the crayon books, color muhammed Ali a nice chocolate brown ok?
I was only kidding when I told youb Ali told me to turn the internet off in the basement....It was Vitalie!!!

Oh god. Please just stop it.
You've made it clear he's the guy you hate the most in boxing, therefore leaving us with no point to discuss it ever again as your opinion is completely invaluable now.
I practically quoted him word for word and the point with this comment being, that combined with the Liston fiasco lends it credence if you remember that far back.
Yes he is one of the boxers I dislike the most, that's true. He is by far the most overrated boxer of all time who's career was heavily manufactured. But the only thing I can say I actually HATE which is a strong word is the mythology invented that surrounds him, perpetuated by people like you.
I intend only to expose the truth!
As for the last paragraph I wont even humour that with a response.

Which of those quotes is supposed to tell me Ali is the biggest racist ever that didn't actually kill someone? :lol1:
You are picking out quotes from a website, no doubt.
If memory serves me right, Parkinson tried to call out Ali on the hypocrisy of Islam or something like that, which got Ali kind of mad because he didn't have anything prepared.
It was a sucker move by Parkinson anyway, and Ali absolutely owned him.

You can't be serious!? That's not what you said he said at all :lol1: + he's clearly clowning.
But as he said 10 seconds before that sentence, people are so small minded that they take what they want to take from what he says.
Perhaps you fit better into 60s southern USA - then you could hate Ali all you want!
Yeah, I'm not going to deny this man inspired me a lot. Why would I? He's great. In fact, he's the greatest of them all.
You clearly have a personal vendetta towards him, quite sickening really. And embarrassing for you which is why you've been driven off this forum multiple times in the past with your other accounts, been banned + been banned from the history section.

Some more original quotes from Muhammad Ali on Parkinson...
"You're a white man and your knowledge is nuttin' to a Muslim."
"My leader is Elijah Muhammad who preaches the doom of America"
"You and this TV show is nuttin' to Muhammad Ali. It ain't no way you can tackle me. All of you are tricky***8230; the white Englishmen tricked us out of Africa"
"I am not just a boxer. I am told by Elijah Mohammed I am educated"
"I could talk all week a million of subjects and you do not have enough wisdom to call on me on television***8230; You are too small mentally to tackle me on nottin' that I represent"
"The Muslims are the most respected people in America, we are the cleanest"
Ali: "It's a fact that white people hate black people"
Michael Parkinson: "That's not true"
Ali (interrupting): "What you mean it's not true? You're the biggest hypocrite in the world"
"How you gonna get me on a TV and trap me? Ain't no way. You can't beat me physically nor mentally"
To Michael Parkinson: "You are really a joke!"
Yes I see what you mean LacedUp..
Clearly the guy was clean living and took a very mediocre stance on the topic of race :lol1:
Incredible. Your pal above, whatever his name was, tries to pull the race card on me for pointing out one of the biggest racists of all :lol1:

Speaking of Muhammad Ali and Parkinson, here's a quote from his first interview:
"Let's get things straight, I'm not involved in a power struggle. I'm not between black and white, we are not trying to get power over whites. I'm involved, I would say, in a freedom struggle. I wouldn't say power struggle, because that means I would get in power to do you like they did us. We're not trying to rule nobody, we're just trying to get out from under the evil rule of the past".
wow, what a racist huh Elroy?

man, just leave elroy, the guy is not just an uneducated boxing fan, he has race issues too imo. the fact that this somehow turned into an Ali bashing thread is evidence of that.
