I mean if it's not Manny then Garcia is the guy with the next best Resume with wins over Khan and Matthyse. Khan beating Alexander who can't punch doesn't prove much honestly.
Garcia should just move up, beat a fringe top 10 welter, then fight Floyd. While it won't be very competitive, there's nobody out there who really deserves the fight more then him.
what's so funny is the best at 140 vs the best at 147 will only be criticized if floyd is involved......any other fighter would be able to get away with it. pacf@gs were stroking their little clitter-dicks to the idea of pacquiao facing garcia but floyd vs garcia is all of a sudden a crappy fight........floyd vs garcia blows pacquiao vs algieri away in terms of competitiveness, ppv, relevancy and legacy.
1. Danny flat out doesn't want the fight.
2. Floyd usually fights guys coming off impressive wins, the Herrera gift and the Salka farce just don't cut it.
He has 64 million reasons to fight Khan and Danny Garcia next year. Floyd doesn't fight for legacy, he fights for money. He doesn't care that Khan and Danny Garcia do not further his legacy, he just cares about the check. That is why he fought Marcos Maidana twice and Robert Guerrero in 3 of 4 fights he's had the last two years. Dollar dollar bill ya'll.
And that isn't pathetic to you?

I don't see why Khan has to fight a big puncher to prove himself worthy of Floyd. Floyd is a light-hitter (especially these days, at 147, and with a career-long history of hand problems).
If the dominant fighter in the division were a massive puncher, we, as fans, would demand that any potential opponent face a big puncher as a kind of "audition" to prove that he can give that top guy a good fight (and avoid getting blown out in a round or two).
But that doesn't apply here. Alexander is a two-weight world champion and a top-10 Welterweight. If Khan wins clearly & convincingly, I have no problem with Floyd-Khan, and in fact I look forward to it because I think it's a whole lot more interesting than some people would have you believe.
I swear you guys are are just dummies. No. Danny Garcia is not going to fight Floyd next. Al knows he has to match Swift with someone credible before making the fight. Same reason why Amir is fighting Devon next month, Haymon is matching Amir Khan against a top 10 welterweight to make the Floyd/Khan fight more appealing. Expect Danny to be matched against either Lamont or Adrien next. Amir in May and Danny in Sept. 49-0.
I guess their backup plan if Khan and Danny lose is Thurman and maybe Andrade.. Miguel Cotto is not an available option for Floyd since Miguel is clearly working exclusively with Bob Arum and HBO now.
Too easy:pat:

Forgot Floyd has 2 fights left so it would have to be on CBS, not NBC which Haymon has the deal with right?
Yes, it would have to be CBS which again all very far fetched.
I was just thinking of different scenarios that Floyd, with a lesser opponent, with the worst of all candidates, could counter and outperform Canelo-Cotto if they happen on the same date.
Mayweather vs Flat Footed Fighters #Yawn.
I used to think Khan was the guy years ago but he's regressed over the years.he has speed but he's wreck less and doesn't have the power IMO. If Floyd lands a counter right hand flush, there's no doubt Khan gets hurt. Floyd may not be the most powerful guy at WW but I've seen him stop some guys in their track coming forward with precise counter rights and body shots.
The promotion from showtime would be interesting.
"Garcia takes on the pound for pound king, coming off a sensational 2nd round KO over Rod 'lightening' Salka"
Also, we don't know what Haymon's plan is for 2015. Floyd-Alexander would not sell on PPV...but that fight could be turned into a success if it was on regular TV using one of those dates Haymon Sports has. (Just speculating)

Wow, didn't think of that man..Floyd vs Alexander on NBC prime time on a Saturday night would be a crazy success. Against anyone really would be huge. I would love for that to happen.
Exactly, although Arum is just a lousy excuse not to fight Manny anyway.
Brook is not getting the fight and neither is Devon regardless if he beats Khan or not. Nobody will buy that fight so he won't bother. If Khan loses, Floyd has 0 options other then Thurman really.
He's in a terrible position. Can't see him fighting Thurman because he is virtually unknown, that fight would be very hard to sell. He needs to beg cotto for another fight at 155, nothing else makes money.
