What an an inspiration. He's so strong physically, mentally and spiritually. That fortitude made him a true champion and warrior in and out of the ring. I wish him the absolute best. I truly hope that he can walk again one day. That would make me so incredibly happy.
That's amazing. Have nothing but respect for Paul williams. When I think about my problems I'll just look at this vid and slap myself for feeling down.
Paul is truly inspiring the way he's dealt with the career ending injury. Positive man.
what an inspiration, hes no fake for the cameras you can tell he's actually happy and accepts what life hands him.
i think anyone can take something away from the attitude and way pwill lives his life with his head still held high
Respect to P Will guy has such a great attitude i'm sure there has been plenty off rough moments but dude is fighting through as hard as he did in the ring
Maybe Manny will fight him, since they now see eye to eye.
Maybe Cotto will fight him. Martinez was almost as disabled as Williams is now.
both of you..fvck offThat's really is so sad but still am happy that his alive though!
More power PW!!!
Isn't Larryxxx one of the hardcore fan of Paul Williams? :boxing:
Larryxxx should be the one posting this not you!
no i was never a hardcore Williams fan
I think Williams height of 6 foot 2 and punch output would have been to much for Canelo or Floyd he would have landed Canelo his first loss
I don't think you remember Paul's last couple of fights. Things weren't going very well, the amount of punishment he was taking and the way his opponents were simply figuring out his style to beat him etc. I also remember that his speech was starting to slur after those brutal fights too. At the time I was getting worried about his health and I don't know if he had more than 2 or 3 fights left in him..
Happy because he looks so happy hitting it
Sad because he's in a wheelchair
That smile though

I used to be a big Paul Williams fan. He wasn't a ATG or anything but he brought an exciting style to the sport of boxing.
He was the first to really expose the hype train which was Antonio Magarito.
He also had Miguel Cotto running scared. And Freddie Roach was on record stating that he'd never match Manny up with Paul (even though both were Welterweights).
He was truthfully one of the more avoided fighters of his day.
The Punisher will be missed but never forgotten.

It is bittersweet, but he seems happy and he's a survivor. He has most definitely been missed.
What I love about this is his positive attitude. It's not beyond any human being to have those moments where they are feeling down. Especially in the privacy of their own home. However when he's out, he's staying positive and using that positive energy to inspire others, especially youth.
I bet that is what keeps him going along with his faith. It's not beyond him to talk again, but it sounds like he's doing more good two paralyzed legs than many do with a full, working body.
One of my favourite boxers of all time, he and Floyd got me in to following this sport like a diehard. Wish him the best, he would fight anyone, anywhere, throw 100's of punches and overwhelm his opponent. Imagine how many great fights could be made with a prime P.Williams at 147-154 and hell even 160.
I've always admired Paul Williams as a person. He's always struck me as well spoken, humble and incredibly positive and upbeat, and especially so, in light of his tragic life changing events. I've also read that he invested his boxing winnings wisely and is very financially secure - good for him
