According to Box rec and also http://******.craveonline.com/news/357971-oscar-de-la-hoya-mulls-mares-santa-cruz-khan-guerrero
Khan vs Guerrero + Santa Cruz vs Abner Mares (Undercard) possibly on Dec6.
Great card. I reckon King Khan does what Mayweather couldn't i.e Stop Guerrero inside 12 rounds and Mares beats Santa Cruz in a close UD.
Whats your pick on these 2 fights?
:boxing:
I went to Amir Khan on boxrec and saw nothing about this fight and I won't believe Khan is fighting Guerrero until I see it in print on some official site. I think only Rigo can beat Santa Cruz at 122 and Santa Cruz will KO all other 122 pounders.
I've been calling this one for a while. It's a good match up for Amir and brings more credibility than a Lopez bout. Guerrero's tailor made to make Khan look good without being a pushover.
I think Guerrero can and will hurt Khan if they were to fight .Voted Guerrero by stoppage . Khans style under Hunter is frustratingly boring combo , clinch , repeat ... the kid got skills but also has one of the most questionable chinz in the sport . Plus I think Ward aside ... Hunters a little over rated .
I voted for Khan by ud but there should have been a split d option because I can easily see a very close fight with not all judges voting the same. After Khan's narrow win over Diaz it's hard to have much faith in his abilities. Guerrero could knock Khan out but if Khan is still standing at the final bell his fast combination should win him a close decision over Guerrero who is really not very good.
I am going with Guerrero on this one. Khan is pretty gifted, but lacks common sense in the ring. I guess the same can be said about Guerrero, but I think he can adjust a little better.
I'd have to give the edge to Khan but he ain't stopping Guerrero for sh1t.
I can see Khan taking a close decision another part of me sees The Ghost mauling the hell out of Khan. Guerrero is not easy to tie up and won't be kept honest.
That is a good fight.
Is Cruz moving up then? Or is Mares moving down? That's an important fact.
Also, with Khan/Guerrero as the headline, that's a heck of a card. I reckon Guerrero has enough pop to hurt Khan but Khan has the skills and the speed to outbox him if he wishes to do so. Looks like will be a great night of boxing.
Both good fights.
I'd have to go with Khan stoppage and Mares UD.
You mean Khan getting stopped or him stopping Guerrero? I think The Ghost has been knocked down only a couple of times in his career and he has grown into the 147 division. Khan may win but it won't be by KO.
Not true. He looked like a$$ vs Floyd. I personally expected him to make it a dog fight like he did vs Berto. Instead for whatever reason he came to fight Floyd in the center of the ring like an idiot and got what was coming for being so stupid. If he fights khan, he'd better fight like the dog and keep coming and throwing punches like he did vs Berto. If he stays in the center of the ring like he did against Floyd, he gets picked apart by Khan's lighting quickness.
Khan opens himself up too much, I don't see Guerrero being that outmatched in the center of the ring. Guerrero didn't look that bad, watch the first 3-4 rounds (If I remember correctly) he caught Mayweather with counter right hooks and left hands, the job will prove a lot easier against Khan.
Guerrero didn't look good his last fight but if he can somehow revert back to how he looked against Mayweather, which wasn't as bad as it was made out to be, he should be able to successfully counter Khan consistently and fight competitively enough to get the decision.
I like Cruz to win but Mares is heavier handed and he's dirty as well, in fact nevermind...I can't say who wins that. It might depend on the ref really.
