Espinoza said he initially "outright rejected Josh Clottey. We didn’t feel he was anywhere near credible." Accepted only after HBO did."
What is this guy smoking? He signed off on Salka/Garcia but didn't want to sign off on Clottey?
Espinoza was right on this one....after the publicity beating he took on some of his previous crap he needed to take a stand.
He just took a stand against the wrong guy.
Of course Clottey is not a credible opponent for Canelo, and the same guys here co-signing this would be the same ones bashing Showtime if it was approved.
If Espinoza was true then he will continue to not accept BS mismatches....if he continues to do the same as before then he is just a jackass
showtime coming correct! clottey wasn't credible meanwhile tune in to dawson-karpency and fonfarra-tba. no opponent with 5 weeks until headlining a fight. recipe for success!
I can't wait till Oscar is left with nothing but a dying company.
Mayweather Promotions + Haymon +Schaefer is coming soon.
all of them together dont have a single PPV fighter once floyd retires...
oh wait, i forgot the charlos are the future of the sport...
Meanwhile, Canelo be like ... pic.twitter.com/7bmlvk9jOV— Brian Campbell (@BCampbellESPN) September 23, 2014
That picture's so alpha it taught me the Greek language.
Both networks alway say this stuff when someone else signs for the other, the HBO team were in damage control when Mayweather went to sho.For example, look at the latest episode of The Fight Game. A woman beater calling out a woman beater. It's like a Coen brothers movie.
He's smoking that "fake" weed that they had on All Access.
LOL, Espinoza claimed he was high on fake weed when he was caught trying to get a cheap feel from the TMT Thots.
Alvarez must be jumping ship to avoid all of Haymon's upcoming slick fighters like Jermel Charlo, Julius Williams, Dominic Wade, Tony Harrison, and Errol Spence. He had enough of squeeking by with Trout & Lara.
Seriously though, way more money and fame to be had on HBO. Even though Alvarez isn't a Haymon fighter, on Showtime everything around him would be controlled by Haymon.
That would be hypocritical though considering the fact that you reject that but allow Haymon fighters to fight the guys they been fighting Lately
But the frustration would be the fact that Showtime lost a good amount of Money on both of his PPV which lets be honest the numbers was very lack luster.
That just Free Up a spot on Showtime for someone on Showtime to get that push as Showtimes next big star and Draw, now who will claim that spot and separate themselves from the pack is the questions
The fact Canelo has to move from Showtime is more indicative of Showtime, not the other way around.
