I imagine this fight is going to happen in May 2015 and there's been lots of talk about the possible outcome etc...the question I have is: take away the fights Khan has been badly hurt against known big punches in Maidana and Garcia (don't know if Prescott is?) , has khan really ever been out boxed technically?
If Floyd can't hurt Khan with a perfect counter right hand I can actually see this fight being very competitive. I'm not a fan of either guy but I'd be willing to shell out the $ to see them fight if Khan got by a decent name in his next fight (not Lopez for christ sake).
The speed could be a big problem for Floyd now that he is obviously on the decline...
Say what you will, I'm giving Khan a much better chance at beating Floyd than I gave Maidana. I'm a huge Mayweather fan. If Floyd can't time Khan and sits back to wait on counters he may lose.
Khan looked solid against Collazo, big and strong.
Floyd aint walking him down, he doesnt have the power to take risks like that
Collazo??? really Collazo??
It's a 50/50 fight for me. Shyt..if amir was fighting a complete bum I'd still see it as 50/50 because of his chin. To me Floyd has to win by KO.I don't know at this stage if he has it in him to outpoint Khan ,but its Amir so a stoppage is not out of the question. The fight I want to see is floyd vs Pacman, I think pac is going to do a number on him due to his southpaw advantage. The entire fight is going to look like the early rounds of the Zab fight but pac is gonna land more, even this past prime pac is better than any version of Judah.
If Khan sticks to boxing and stays disciplined I actually think he'll give Floyd his toughest fight ever. As long as he doesn't caught up in a brawl, and he adapts his game plan so that offense doesn't become predictable it's going to be a very competitive fight.
with the amount of clinching both did in their last fights, this could potentially be a big stinker
Khan is so vulnerable up close Mayweather will find ways to work him there. Also, Khan is too stupid a fighter not to make this entertaining.
People can stretch it which ever way, but Khan the "crystal chin hype job" who was going to be exposed by Maidana, dropped and beat him clear the first time with Chino wearing the gloves of HIS choice. :lol1:
Why do you guys keep bringing this up? Do you also forget how much trouble Maidana had to go through to get Khan to fight him to the point where he threatened to sue. Funny how you guys keep bringing it up like it matters now. Even funnier that up to this point in time Maidana is rated higher then Khan.
Khan does not have the pressuring ability or the strength to make his speed a factor...He will sit and try to box Floyd and Floyd will pick him apart.. Khan has sloppy footwork and lunges a lot with his chin in the air. He does not have a great jab nor does he commit to it...He has ineffective speed which means he throws sloppy combos with out any base to them. Khan is a counter punchers dream.. His timing sucks and he has no since of distance..all ya'll talk about is his speed which honestly is not all that
Agreed. All very valid points. I don't look at Khan as some sort of master boxer. He's too sloppy and makes too many rookie mistakes to be considered such. Every fighter who has been able to deal with his speed has managed to time him and hurt him at some point. His footwork is atrocious and he can't fight going backwards. He actually looks a lot worse under Virgil Hunter than Roach and his offensive output has dropped dramatically since Khan now fights way more cautiously than before. The problem with that is that he's not a thinking type of fighter.
I feel that Floyd will time him, counter him like crazy and Khan will get discouraged from not being able to do his usual jump in with 3-4 shots routine (like in the Garcia fight). Maidana had a much better shot against Floyd because he had absolutely no respect for Floyd and doesn't generally give a crap about who he's in with. Khan doesn't have that same temperament. He will make it interesting for the first 3-4 rounds then get beat. Not saying Floyd will knock him out, but Floyd will beat Khan and won't get any credit for it.
He just fought a guy twice that Khan beat years ago. How can you not compare?
Josesito Lopez almost had Maidana out last year. Maidana he won a world title - against Broner - who Malignaggi didn't even deserve to lose to (draw on my card).
Yes, because the Maidana that fought Khan and the Maidana that fought Floyd are the same fighters. :dunce:

I don't get some of the logic in here. So if Khan "doesn't deserve" this fight and he's been fighting "C class fighters". So, if Floyd actually chooses to fight him, which is a real possibility, then what does that say about Floyd?:ugh:
I think Khan is good and can see the hardcore appeal and a bit on the casual appeal ( mostly from UK ) but to me a Garcia or Cotto is even more appealing.
Using Khans logic, " why should Floyd fight someone I beat instead of me"... Well that would be Garcia.
First thing people say is weight class. I tell you what, no casual fan will give a F.
No Floyd has been fighting nothing but world champions in and above his weight class....Khan has been fighting c class fighters and grand dads and still getting put on his ass...no way can you compare their competition...stop it

Same goes for Floyd but at least Khan has the excuse of switching trainers and adapting a new style.

actually his recent wins against low level comp tell more of the story

I've spent too much time going over Khan's flaws, the least he can do is beat a credible opponent to earn himself this fight.
Exactly...fight Thurman,Alexander or at least Guererro for crying out loud
Just like Maidana was going to be easy work...
I get it, you don't rate Khan but he has lost only twice in his career, both times by way of power punchers and he was dominating in one of those bouts.
