Broner actually had success walking Maidana down and cut his workrate doing so..Yes he lost but he fought the man toe to toe and walked him down. Uppercuts are good punches to use against Maidana
true,,
the best round that showes this was 11th and 12 round, man in the 12 broner landed clean on maidana and sent maidana walking backwards from the opposite side of the ring,,watch closely and u see.
broner needs to work on his punch rate,,its like hes gunshy or he thinks hes a defensive wiazard which he is to me but hes also very gifted ppwer puncher to so he need to let his hand go more. he also has veru vicious uppercut
Broner does 3 things and he is nigh unbeatable.
1.STAYS THE **** OFF THE ROPES!
2.Raises his punch output.
He loses rounds simply by laying on the ropes and being outworked. It's crazy.
here is another..lol http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1523&pictureid=13122
Larry has that arm nice and ready for another 12 round jerkoff session.

That is broners natural style his boxing skill is very overrated Floyd isn't really a come forward fighter but it would be smart to walk maidana down some. all you have to do is watch Mosley-margarito to see how you beat a guy who always comes forward clinch, push work inside and body punches if Floyd is still the same fighter he should chop maidana down with body shots chino hates body shots.
I agree. Broner displayed some tremendous heart in that fight. After being knocked down and hurt several times by Maidana, he didn't quit. He was still actively trying to win and going for the knockout.
Great post. Thankfully I found someone with come intelligent thoughts in here. Calling Maidana, or anyone at this level is disrespectful. Journeymen are lucky to get fights on FNF. Maidana is at the top of the sport. You don't get to the top by accident, sure there are exceptions, i.e. danny gift garcia, but Maidana is the real deal and if you can say otherwise with a straight face then it's clear you know 0 about boxing.
Thanks Loaded, much appreciated.
he had some dodgy fights at 140 too but yeah he's better than he was. I view him as a B level fighter now whereas he was probably C level before.
Calling him B level is Ok, not a bad level.
This Journeyman talk is laughable, it seems you guys don't know what it even means .They don't fight in main event fights with World titles on the line. I;m baffled by these comments to be honest.
Journeymen are there to lose to prospects, don't even care if they are on TV, maidana is at World Level, making millions.

he is more skilled than he gets credit though, he sets up his shots much better now, he used to just swing with the overhand right. watch his 2 kds's of broner, he wasn't doing any of that feinting to the body and then going upstairs until he joined Garcia. jab much better as well, basically non existent for years ha.
Maidana was top 4/5 at LWW, probably top 5 at WW, at least top 6(not to mention World titlist). That is World level. A Journey man is like those English HW's Williams, Skelton etc who just fight prospects for a bit of money.
maidana isn't absolute Elite, but there isn't many in most divisions. very good fighter though at least on current form. The maidana from the Devon fight skews peoples opinion on him i feel because he was that bad vs Devon, a truly awful performance, he came in with no motivation and gave up after 2 rounds.

Yeah, I guess the term has been abused enough so as to take on a different meaning.
I didn't actually say he was a journeyman but I know what Freedom meant by it. He meant Maidana's a tough rugged guy who will come to fight but is not massively skilled or an elite level fighter.

Maidana was once overrated on forums, after he smashed Ortiz and did well vs Khan, but t now severely underrated. C level fighter?, no that's disrespectful. maidana is a good fighter and has only ever had one real bad fight, vs Devon. he has improved a lot since then but still gets people saying he is totally unskilled. Why didn't Floyd and Broner win every round then?.
Exactly! Anybody thinking Maidana is a bum or C level fighter isn't paying attention. Before getting with Garcia I could see the argument of him being a limited fighter, but he's improved immensely under Garcia. Is it enough to take out Floyd, not sure, but he's a very live opponent and not an easy go for anybody, Floyd included. I see tonight being more like the first fight and if Maidana can land something big, it just may change completely. As for Broner, he'll never beat Maidana. He fights too flat footed, defense is too leaky, and his power hasn't traveled up with him to the higher weights. He can't really hurt Maidana and isn't smart enough of a fighter to break him down systematically. If they rematch, Maidana will clobber him again imo.
Broner did have success on the front-foot against Maidana OP and he was coming into the fight but he just got caught with that overhand right. Taylor was throwing the same one in the last fight.
He's a little bit better than that under Garcia in recent fights imo but not much.

Maidana is really just a tough journeyman.
Tonight it will be something like 120-108 or 119-109 for Mayweather.
Floyd will be better prepared than he was in the first fight, knowing exactly what to expect.
He's a little bit better than that under Garcia in recent fights imo but not much.
Maidana did counter Floyds pull counter several times with a jab. He's definitely under rated by some.
He countered it one time with a right hand....and it was nice.....
