Don***8217;t think I***8217;m an idiot. That probably would have been the most that I***8217;ve gotten for a fight but no amount of money can make me sell myself and what***8217;s inside of me. I know that $1.4 million is a lot of money and it***8217;s not like I***8217;m just walking out with $1.4 million,***8221; said Quillin, during an interview with ******.com over the weekend.
The fuck does that even mean?
Haymon doesn't have to convince him of d1ck. His contract essentially gives Haymon complete rights to f#ck him over.
Hope this isn't true, that's basically putting your whole life in another persons hands.
Still, I guess there must have been some kind of sweet talk - woulda loved to be a fly on the wall.
AH: This Russian ain't a good deal son.. I can get you five times this money in your next coupla fights.
PQ: But this is more than I ever earned .. a lot more.
AH: Trust me son, I've made millionaires in this business.
PQ: But I've just had a child - I gotta make sure .... I... missus Quillin says...
AH: Son.(shakes head slowly) What does your girl know about boxing..hmm. What does she know about the boxing business.. HMmm? You go ask yourself.
PQ: But.. but... what about all my fans? They'll lose all respect....
AH: Don't you worry about that son... you really think I'd throw you to the lions? After all the work I've put into promoting you? C'mon son, now you're just being silly...
:lol1:
Probably pretty close, hopefully he gets a good price on that Mustang when he sells it.
lol yea, that's why I was thinking otherwise, haha
Him and his "business deals" LOL
That would be like selling cars. Some rental company wants to buy a fleet of cars, lets say 20. Peter would be like, no I will pass on selling them, because I heard a rumor that someone down the road might be interested in buying 50 of them.
Biznezz 101. Little does the dumbass know he was used to satisfy someone elses ego.
The move still makes no sense for Quillin.
Lost his biggest paycheck and belt:smashfrea
I'm just curious what Haymon said to convince him this was a good idea.

Was talking with Griesman... even though it seems like Jacobs/Quillin is next, it was Oscar who said that, and we all know Oscar doesn't have final say with these guys
Big things ahead!

Makes me think that, but he also retweeted this:

that retweet is the fake Espinoza LOL
Man, I have heard people say boxing is a business (BIAB) before, but does anyone say it as much as this guy? It's like hes an actor in a play or something, not a part of a sport. He is disingenuous with the fans here. My interpretation of the "boxing is a business crap" is unless he gets ridiculously and undeservedly overpaid, he should not take any risk whatsoever. Sick of his entitled mentality, what has he really achieved?
STOP PASSING OFF YOUR GED AS A PHD.
We're still trying to figure out the business here
Had a good laugh when I seen this. Danny retweeted the fake Stephen Espin0za account. Some guy made a Espinoza paradody account to mock Espinoza's garbage. Danny just got made a fool (twice if you count him giving his interm belt to Quillin for equal money).
LOL. More and more farcical by the hour.
Can either of them explain why Quailing wouldn't fight Korobov first? They coulda had the NYC showdown anyway, except there was a decent chance of there being a real title on the line if Quailin' had fought Korobov.

As much as I want the G man to annihilate him, it would be even sweeter if one of his "business" opponents KO's him.

Has anyone ever left Haymon? Can anyone leave Haymon?
We've seen some details of his contracts which effectively say he has total control over the signees career, but I've never seen any details over how long the contracts last.
Are we talking in perpetuity here? That would be a genuine devils contract - specially for a guy like Quillin who appears to have just been bent over.
I think Thurman will leave... dude wants the big fights and not the money

Only person I know was Andre Dirrell and that was when his value hit rock bottom.
With Quillin, this was his last fight under GB. If he would've beaten Korobov, Roc Nation would've likely signed him and pumped a ton of money into building his brand, where Haymon simply gets him Showtime fights against no-hopers. It'll be interesting to see if Quillin were to lose his next and never make the pay day he just turned down, if he seeks financial damages against Haymon for bad advice.

Quillin doesn't deserve to be a champ. I hope Jacobs Ko's him.
Quillin gets to keep his '0'. Rewatch his fight with Konecny and imagine if Konecny had two good eyes, a punch, and was the same size as Pete. Korobov can fight and would've gave Quillin either an 'L' or a very tough fight like Rosado. Danny Jacobs is not a tougher fight for Quillin, much easier. Danny's shown he can be put down and kept down. He doesn't have the same tools and mental fortitude that Korobov has.
Otherwise WTF kind of businessman turns down a fight where they pass up more than 3x their career high payday, their title belt, and a chance to fight in front of a crowd that be rooting for them, on national tv, against a guy they strongly believed they would've beat...
Only real winner here is Roc Nation. They're getting free publicity for nothing. The huge damage is on Quillin. He loses the belt, money, dignity, rep...
Unless Roc nation did want to put the fight on for some reason
The move still makes no sense for Quillin.

Yeah it will probably be a co-feature on a Garcia card. Quillin has almost no fan base whatsoever, Jacobs has the whole feel good story stuff that makes him slightly interesting to the sentimental.
I just can't see it as a main, it will most likely be on a Garia undercard
Funny thing is this was a very winnable fight for Quillin and he could have fought Jacobs after in a bigger fight with absolutely zero ties to Roc Nation.
I had it 50/50, now he lost much more than a belt and money
He didnt got his ass kicked, that was the whole point
Yep. That's what they mean when they say, "Boxing is business. I have to start cherry picking my opponents." Meaning, I'm scared of getting whooped by the fighter they want to see me fight.
