I watched this fight five times, the Machine threw this same punch at least three times. Each time he was hurting Ortiz, and it must have taken a lot of guts to keep going, but oyu could see he was getting hurt. I dont know WTF the commentators were watchign because they didnt even mention that all of a sudden Ortiz started clinching for dear life.
Maybe Ortiz wasnt as tough as expected, maybe he got caught with one of those Matthysse liver shots that are like getting shot, time will tell in Ortiz fights to follow.
ferfal, WBC & WBA hand out titles like candy on halloween, titles don't prove ****
ortiz was unproven, and you could argue is still unproven because even though he was stopped early, he didn't seem to be in agonizing pain when he stood up (though at the moment the punch landed, he looked like he wanted to die). i'm pretty sure he could've continued but i wasn't there getting blasted in the stomach
i wouldn't be surprised if the WBC mandated this a NC and ordered a rematch, Haymon would probably tell lucas to drop the belt because it's a garbage title anyways and doesn't mean ****
Of course they do, yet again Gift had to fight a #77 ranked nobody that didn't even have a "Halloween candy" title.
I had Matthysse beating Ortiz for obvious reasons, but I wasn't looking past him nor do I think his ko ratio is based on cab drivers alone. He'll, I think we haven't seen the last of that guy. As you say, a good livet punch is no joke. A similar punch cost Maidana the fight against Khan and nearly got him ko.
Canelo fought more bums to build his career than Ortiz did, it didn't automatically demote Canelo to "unproven bum" status
unproven doesn't mean bad fighter
and there wasn't much footage on youtube to really build a case for/against Ortiz, I said this from the start, people were just throwing **** at the wall making bold predictions either way
wtf does Canelo have to do in this conversation?? :lol1: even so Alvarez fought a current world champ in his third fight and plenty of known prospects to start off his career.
Ortiz wasn't going to put up a fight because he was fighting nobodies and getting dropped in the process. There's nothing special about ko fighters no one's ever heard of.
a couple hours ago ortiz was undefeated silver WBC, now he's a bum.let it go man, Khan has gone Ricky fatton on you.

No it didn't :lol1:
it was evident Ortiz had accomplished absolutely nothing of note and all of his ko's came against subpar competition. Anyone that truly follows the Machine knew he was going to walk through Ortiz.

You're biased against argy boxers. ortiz matthysse had all the ingredients for a tough, long fight but Matthysse ended it with a beautiful liver shot, which is no fluke, he has done so many times before if you watch his fights. thats all there is to it, I don't get where the hate is coming from.

Sergio Martinez is/was my favourite foreign fighter you mong! :lol1:
I was a fan of Matthysse - just think his fantards like you are absolute helmets.
Roberto Ortiz sucked. He packed it in after 2 rounds. Call a spade a spade.
I never thought Roberto Ortiz was going to be good.

I blame Ortiz, he clearly quit. He started to get up when te ref already said nine...I feel the same i wanted to see more of Matthysse but in a more competitive fight...
I didn't think he wanted it either, when he didn't move you could see the ref's face change to an expression of "he really doesn't want this fight"
Funny the same people who use Mathysse eye (and to a lesser extent, low blows) as an excuse see no problem with the stoppage in this fight ...
It's even more funny that you can't tell when a boxer gets a fight ending liver shot which by the way is Matthysse ' s specialty and he had been looking for during the fight.
It was a joke. The sad part is that you haven't been joking since your dreams were crushed last September. Constant state of denial and delusion
Khan fan calling me delusional, pitiful.
