Eric Gomez told ESPN.com
“Canelo isn’t going to go pay-per-view. We don’t want to saturate the market. He’s willing to go live on either Showtime or HBO. We’ll see. Maybe another network. He has no contract with any network. We’re working on things.”
most likely Dec. 6 Canelo-Kirkland at Alamodome on regular HBO...
Sorry, but Kirkland isn't special enough of a fighter for Oscar to go out of his way to make that fight for Canelo. It's very unlikely that Oscar would do business with 50.
this has nothing to do with kirk, its all about canelo, if he ask for kirk, he better get it... canelo does not have a long time contract with oscar but he is loyal as a mexican, so oscars best bet is to keep canelo happy... that is how he got away with the trout and lara fights...

Did you buy Oscar his fishnets and dildo's to get this inside information?
Even if he stays on showtime it'll be on regular showtime so it's good to know I'll have extra cash for the holidays.
Glad to know the ATG kellerman will be calling the ATG snake's fights :boxing:
Where this money coming from? Evidently there's no money for the end of the year with Cotto having to go PPV again, even with Ward not fighting
How the hell do you know that?
Plus, these are evolving circumstances that cause companies to increase budgets. When things change you gotta strike while the iron is hot.
If Canelo goes to HBO this year that means a Canelo/Cotto fight is a done deal. No way HBO pays to have Canelo for one fight without a signed deal to match him and Cotto up on Cinco de Mayo next year.
Golden Boy already has the MGM booked for that weekend in 2015. Who is Floyd going to realistically fight that would be bigger? Keep dreaming about a Pacquiao/Floyd fight, isn't going to happen. Let Floyd go off to the UK an fight Khan that same weekend on Showtime PPV....
Looks like they're not getting the kind of figures they want at Showtime, or at least the glitter and pageantry that HBO usually offers. Also an indication that PPVs are really not that profitable.
Looks like they want Canelo back on HBO, and are setting up for the May showdown with Miguel Cotto.
Makes sense. Now just hope they find him a good opponent. How about Kid Chocolate at 60?

why? you people are terrified when oscar is trying to work with other promoters, don't you?
50 cent had a beef with your hero money mayweather and his associates schaefer and haymon, whom floyd wanted to get rid of with 50 cent on his side. when 50 cent attempted to execute the plan, his best friend chickened out and made 50 cent looked like the villain when in fact pbf was the one who's been toying with the idea.
oscar can work with everybody. canelo's next fight will likely be on hbo, which is where kirkland's last fight was covered.
DAMN, good to hear. It was getting a bit out of hand. Glad to see they GOT IT, if you know what I mean.
Also, great to hear HBO's name being thrown in the mix with a GB fighter.
This is just great news all around for the sport.
They won't fight on the same night. I mean, the Ward void left 1.75 and some to use.
Don't know if Cotto fights either, from what I've heard, he might just wait for next year, but I've been hearing a whole lot of stuff regarding him
Didn't Cotto book Madison Square Garden for December?
So... neither were Don King and Bob Arum and they even made fights. Being friends has nothing to do with bidness homie.
