Inspired by the thread about boxers with the best nicknames, which boxers do you think have the worst nicknames.
I've always hated Devon Alexander "the great." He's the only one I can think of where the nickname is at the end of his real name.
Also Anthony "the man" Mundine. I haven't watched a fight of his in a while so idk if he still goes by this but I remember hearing it and thinking, my god can you get more unoriginal.
What are some others?
Nate "The Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell
Come on bro, the galaxy warrior is a sickkkk name based on how stupid it is lol
Danny swift Garcia is awful and sounds so outdated. Pretty boy Floyd also annoys me, mother****er looks like rigondeaux, ain't nothing pretty about that.
Ah ****.. I'm just gonna transfer my somewhat cynical post from the 'cool nicknames' thread. It didn't really belong there anyway....I was just feeling contrary.
Sorry but I have add my 2p.
British boxing legend Chris 'the male man' (and yes it is spelt like that) Male actually goes into the realms beyond stupid with his ringname IMO (and I've seen plenty of stupid).
Closely followed by recently stomped Jarrod 'left jab'(well he is orthodox so it makes sense Jarrod, err.. I guess) Fletcher. I can only assume the fact that he jabs with exactly the same hand as every other orthodox fighter is supposed to strike terror into potential opponents.
And this one's just plain odd -unbeaten Samaran KO sensationAik 'The Humanoid' (well I should hope he is, someone might suspect something if he wasn't at least vaguely human-shaped) Shaknazarian.
And .. oh dammit - who's that African fighter who used 'The Black Roy Jones Jr' as his monniker?
Ah yeah. http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=460858
Ishmael Tetteh. I would die laughing if he ended up an an HBO card with Roy on the commentary team.
Derek pooh enis
Pelos Garcia
There are Hispanic fighters with nicknames like Goofy and Ceviche lol
Owen what the heck beck
Swamp donkey or whatever his nickname is
Pacman is awesome. And it's definitely better than "The Destroyer," which he used to use. Plus Pacman is a very easy name to play off for PED jokes.
Destroyer sounds much better.
Bradley, Alexander and Ward have always struck me as dumb. Lara's is also horrible.
However, Anthony Small wins the unique accolade of having both the best and the worst nickname in boxing.
Any fighter who calls himself King, it is totally overused.
Pacman is cliche
Tyson 2 Fast Fury: It doesn't fit him because he is too slow

Jarrod "Left Jab" Fletcher
1. It's a horrible name. Left Jab? At least have a creative name for it. Ike Quartey's jab was a Bazooka. That's a good nickname.
2. His jab isn't good enough to use it as his nickname. It's like they just used whatever punch he uses most.
Danny swift garcia kind of bothers me because we've seen now that he clearly isn't that fast.
Andre ward's son of god is a bit odd just because he fights a little dirty at times. Not how you would expect a holy man to fight lol.
Bradley's desert storm one is more confusing. The only thing I can think of is that he weathers the storm. He hardly causes storms.
I like Lara a lot but his American dream nickname is funny considering a lot of the American media dislikes him because of his style.
Never liked Bradley's either. I get that it's bc he's from the desert and all. It would have been cool had he fought in desert storm but as it stands now its also one of my least favorite
