Outside of the fighters and guys who put on great fights.
The networks have huge ego's and wont work together.
The promoters have huge egos and wont work together.
The money fighters have huge egos and make odd demands.
There are 4 major belts + the ring champ.
Each major belt has multiple tiers of belts.
It's beyond a joke. What is it going to take to fix this mess? Is it even possible?
"Only if the money is right and whatever my promoter wants to do" is the protocol for all fighters these days.
Only sport that I know that judges, organizations, manager, promoter and even fighters don't get punish. It's been like this for years now and us fans are immune to it. It's like robberies are a norm.

Theres only one thing that can be done to fix boxing:the goverment needs to step in and creat and uniregulator body that doest not let fighter duck...you fight or youre banned from the sport....
BKB aint sheeet man, at least when it comes to cleaning up or changing boxing.
The only thing that could clean up boxing is if legislation forced it to cleanup, if senators started sending boxers to prison for lying about taking peds, and if boxing became mainstream to white america.
Unless boxing becomes more mainstream rather than selling to a small niche of blacks and mexicans, it will never change, because the economics will always be the same. For BKB it's only about economics. JayZ never does anything if it loses money, which is why Kanye West and Jay Z stopped touring together, because Kanye likes to put on huge shows that end up making the concert lost money or make very little. Kanye don't care, but JayZ is a consumate businessman. And without a white mainstream audience the public will never care about cleaning up boxing.
I love boxing, but it's certainly the most disgraceful, least honorable, most despicable sport there is, all around, both the fighters, especially the promoters and laughable boxing boards, and even most of the fans.
Boxing would be a success if it took the UFC root in that it only has one promoter and major governing body, which will never happen so boxing for the best part of the future is fu.cked imo.
I've recently started coaching BKB fighters and have been to various shows, the respect and the camaraderie shown at these events is second to none.No bullsh.it alphabet titles,no bullsh.it period!

Even though it could clearly be improved, there are many factors inherent to the sport that are always likely to prevent it from being run like other sports.
There's no league table so rankings are largely subjective for a start, and that straight away opens the door to all sorts of antics. Injuries are also a constant issue given the fact that it's a combat sport.
It's also extremely individual with every fighter competing against every other fighter for TV deals and title shots. It's therefore much less likely that fighters will band together and make demands that benefit all of them like athletes in other sports.
The biggest problem though, and it's the one that actually could be fixed, is that the sport is an unregulated Wild West. There's no central authority, and therefore there's no accountability. Commissions, networks, sanctioning bodies, and promoters all undercut each other constantly and blame each other when things go wrong.
Anyone who tries to put forward stipulations that better fighter safety, have fairer rankings, tackle PEDs, or improve the sport in some way will be undercut by some other competitor who won't make you comply with any of that shit.
The Texas Commission is the best example of that. A disgraceful organisation that gets business for the same reason they're disgraceful. They have no standards and will whore themselves out to anybody.
Unless boxing is regulated and organised in such a fashion that makes it impossible for a commission, or indeed a sanctioning body or a promoter, to act in this way then there's no hope for the sport to get better. You need a central authority that can make all these other bodies in the sport uphold certain standards, otherwise corruption rules and the whole thing goes to shit.
That fact fans put heat on certain fighters for horrible fights, like Danny for fighting Salka, I got attacked on Instagram "you a hater doe Danny will be laughing to the bank"
The fact that their is fans who actually defend this garbage is what makes it even more sad.
This is very true. I've said before every boxing fan is a hypocrite. Some refuse to admit it. For example: How can you call any fighter the best in the world and then turn right around and defend him taking easy fights because it is lest risk and higher reward? That's contradictory right there.
Yep, ALL boxing needs, which would make it a far more workable and watchable sport is an overarching body to be implemented that will "clean it up".
Boxing should come under one giant commission which runs it on an elected basis. None of this business ran ****!
This is why we all need to fully support BKB. It's the future and next evolution of boxing. People need to stop acting like it's some sort of weird gimmick because guess what IT'S NOT.
Current boxing right now is a badly scripted WWE whereas BKB is reality and truth and goodness.
I like the idea of BKB when it comes to one belt per division but I'm a fan of actual boxing ability, this seems to promote all out wars.
The biggest thing that makes boxing a joke is amongst all those things the OP listed, fans continue to support the b/s that gets shoved in their faces.
Just like all the people who complained and made fun of Garcia-Salka, yet still tuned in. All those spineless saps, are just as culpable in the farce that the sport continues to become.
For me, boxing has been dead for a long time. Whats happening in boxing is happening to the NBA. It's less fan friendly and all about profit. Pride and loyalty can be bought and that's what the next generation are embracing.

You are a 100% right. I was talking about this with my old man the other day... Also, how in the world does an athlete overrule the commission and oblige them to follow his rules? And they follow his lead like sheep.
Imagine an NBA team picking which ball they will play with... or choosing not to play the best team in the NBA Finals.
The fact that fighters say "you can't leave it up to the judges" says enough about this sport. We are used to hearing that but when you take a step back, you can't help but to be shocked at the fact that we all accept that reality.
Good post fellas, I agree!
The problem I have is that guys can pretty much hold a belt hostage. They should be made to defend it twice a year rather than once. And the fact that belt organisations never follow their own standards and give certain fighters special treatment is a big problem. I don't know how ward hasn't been told he'll be stripped yet
I'm not even that old, but, boxing isn't what it was even 15 years ago. You will never see two prime guys square off like odlh vs Mosley or tito. Doesn't happen. Holyfield vs bowe? Forget about it. The talent isn't there anymore plus guys make money fighting cans, why would they fight the best of the best?
