I cannot find a thread like this. But I thought I would make a list of some rising prospects with potential to have good careers, or just make some noise. If anybody would like to contribute, maybe you could post vids of recent fights for any prospects when they fight, or any recent news. Since a lot of these guys will probably fight often and a lot of times their fights go unnoticed and many fans don't get a chance to see our possible future stars.
Also I am not including guys who could of been considered "prospects" with the amount of fights they have, but have taken big step ups and fought somewhat of a world class-level opponent. (I.E. Glazkov, Jennings, etc) or guys who haven't fought the best opponents but are in a position already for a title shot. I.E. Wilder, etc. I am also only including prospects who have made their professional debuts and not amateur prospects.
(some guys have a lot more amateur experience and will probably be moved at a faster pace, and some are older as well + the deep amateur pedigree so they will be moved faster then guys like Lubin, Galazara, etc. although they're being moved fast. but as far as quality of opposition- there's no rush for the young guys)

Feel free to add any other prospects I missed or do not know about.
The guys in red are guys who probably reached their peak and won't reach contender status (or reach it again), and likely not get to a title shot.
looks a real good talent to me. Could go all the way....
how long have you been watching boxing mate? not trying to sound like a dick but you think joe joyce and connor benn are amazing prospects? :lol1:
connor benn
connor benn is ****ing terribile lol
eubank jnr is a half decent carbon copy of his father.
Connor benn is a chinese rip off dvd version of his father with dubbed speech that doesnt match the mouth movements.
Good stuff! Bizarre story with Baha..... he fought Angelo Santana who was promoted by Don King. He beat him. Signed with DK himself.... like literally right in the ring. Lol. And then fell completely off the map! DK ruined the momentum he had going.
I'm not sure if he's still with him but it looks like he's finally starting to make a comeback
Ehh...Walters definitely would be on without a doubt... IF, he didn't fight Vic. I think beating Darchinyan is enough to elevate him off the prospect list. He's ready for the top dogs right now, IMO, and he'll be getting them soon.. most likely
Vic is old but he still had something left in the tank when he fought Walters. He gave Donaire hell in the rematch right before that.
Plus Walters knocking out Donaire definitely puts him past the prospect phase
lubin and nery :boxing:
Nery is a beast. I'll post that vid in the OP.
I like Lubin, but I don't see him stepping up in 2017? I think maybe 2018 is his year... he'll get moved slower then some other guys in the OP.
Welp... it's been two years.... 10 of these guys are current champions. A couple of them became champs and then lost, like Troyanovsky.
Who should we look out for in 2017?
Fedor Chudinov. A super middleweight. 11-0 9 KO's. From Russia. Still would never come close to beating Andre Ward though.
Funnily enough Dmitry remains the more highly regarded of The Brothers Chudinov, but Fedor is actually making rapid progress up the SMW ranks himself and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Fedor doesn't ultimately end up the more highly regarded of the pair.
And yes, you're right. IMO both brothers will come unstuck when they run into a highly skilled and defensively minded counterpuncher - fortunately for them their ain't so many at MW/SMW but yeah, Fedor wouldn't have much of a hope against Ward - should he ever choose to return to the ring.
As an example I reckon Korobov has a very solid shot against Andrade, but IMO Demetrius would clown Dmitry (funny, I never noticed they had the same first name til now) were they ever to meet.
Kevin Newman has his debut tomorrow. He's from the Tmt gym (yea I know lol) but he's probably one of the better prospects they have. At 3:50 there some funny stuff from sparring but I don't think that vid came out

Kid looks sweet on the mitts and there's reference to his am. career in articles as being 'extraordinary' but I'm struggling to find any detail. Was he a GG winner or national team member or something?
New blood, especially US blood to help bolster the divisions prestige would be very welcome at 160. Hope he looks good tomorrow.

That was terrible too. Nugaev never hurt Shafikov and was losing the fight. His face looked horrendous with multiple cuts and bad swelling, he was done. People are ****ing stupid. I mean I understand no one wants to see a entertaining fight get stopped by the ref or the coner, but the man fought his heart out and was obviously done.
Another prospect I forgot to mention is a stablemate of Baha and fellow Uzbek.
Akhror Muralimov aka AHA.
He's 16-0 (13). He fun to watch and can really punch. I didn't mention him on my original list beacuse he's only fought once this year and he's clearly 50-60 lbs overweight. He reminds me of Andy Ruiz kind of. If he got in shape and campaigned at cruiser he could be a real threat, but I think he might be too small for heavy. He recently upset the vet Jason Bergman when he took the fight on short notice and is the only man to stop fellow puncher Durodula, who went 10 rounds with the very talented Thabiso Mchunu. I figured he is worth a mention.
Yeah man... but Nugaev is a straight up warrior. Mad props to him. Screw that crowd.
Interesting, I've never heard of him. Will add him now!
Roberto Ortiz, The guy who is fighting and will beat Lucas Matthysse.
Added
Ievgen Khytrov

^ My favorite prospect in YEEEARS!!!
Already up there!

Already have him on the list, but thanks!
Far better prospect then his brother Dmitry, IMO, though
