Brook deserves no credit if he wins.
Dude what ever fight Porter is in there will always be clinching, Mass cannot occupy the same space at the same time Porter is to blame, You cant press Ur head and body against ur opponent and expect him not to hold you so he down trip and fall over.
Be thankful for brook to catching him with a left hook or Stump him with a stiff Jab on in the way in so we can see some action. All porter was doing was using his body then tried to rabbit punch, real amateurish.
Re watch the tape : in the later rounds PORTER holds more than Brook, Both gloves wrapped around Brooks back and head laid on his chest with a showtime smile. GTFOH!
It was on the borderline of excessive, but I have never seen Brook in such a clinching fest fight before, so I would probably say this was due to both fighters style clashing.
It was a poor version of Wlad vs Povetkin .
In many way it is very similar. I was a huge Wlad fan, and I still like Wlad and think he is a very skilled fighter and underrated in many ways, but my fondness for him cooled somewhat after that fight with Povetkin. I feel like Povetkin suffered his first loss not because he was legitimately beaten but because he wasn't allowed to work on the inside, which was the only place where he could reach Wlad. I think the same thing happened tonight with Porter. I can't give Brook much credit for tonight's "victory", and in my eyes Porter is still an undefeated fighter.
Waaa waaa waaaa :crying:
Even the Yank refs scored it for Kelly Brook haha, Shawn Is a dirty SOB constant rabbit punches and constant holding and punches but let's just pretend Kell was the only one fouling lmfao
Deal with it cry babies on plus side Kelly will likely be a good man and give the absolute dangerous machine Keith Thurman a chance.
It was a horrid fight to watch. Especially after the Bika fight.
I wasn't impressed by either.
Porter was smothering his own offense and Brook didn't do anything catchy to make me believe he won it.
Whatever stream I was watching actually decided to change the channel around rd 9 I suppose from boredom. I was able to find it on another but the view remained the same. Hit,hold, hit, hold, hit, hold...
I've never seen a streamer get so fed up with a fight that he changes the channel. I couldn't help but :lol1:

Just imagine if Alexander and Brook fought. Would have broken a record.
LOL...12 rounds of hugging, not something I would watch.
This fight was ugly, holding from the get go, Brooks didn't like the pressure but in the second half I think Porters got tired.
I didn't see a wide card was a fairly close fight.
I'd like to see Brooks Vs Thurman or Khan.
To fight on the inside you have to fight. Porter wasn't jabbing his way in, wasn't throwing upper cuts, he wasn't punching. He was bull rushing him, leading with his head and not giving him enough space to punch.
Completely agree, Porter was more effective at stifling his own offense than Brook. Porter was grappling while Brook was punching.
You're seriously blaming Brook for the holding
Porter thinks he is on a football field, bull rushing, tackling and rabid punching. Brook could do nothing but to hold him.
I thought so as well.
Brook deserves no credit if he wins.

Porter needs a new trainer, 99% of the time I hate father/son combination and this is just another example. That being said Brook held every chance he got, it was way too excessive whether Porter was coming in or not. Still, the right guy won. I think the scorecards were a bit too wide and I personally had it a draw but I could see Brook winning.
There's been zero real inside fighting in this fight exactly because Brook is preventing it with his holding. What you're interpreting as smothering, is Broook holding while Porter is just trying to get in whatever punches he can.

That's not fighting on the inside. Mayweather fights on the inside. What Porter does is bumrush, smother his own punches and tap to the body.

Of course he's the only one landing clean punches. Brook is best fighting on the outside and Porter is best fighting on the inside. The holding is preventing Porter from doing what he's good at doing. Brook isn't even that good fighting at the outside. If he was, he would have other ways from preventing Porter from fighting on the inside other than holding.
Name another fighter besides Diaz that prevented Porter from getting inside and mauling. And Diaz hurt him from the onset.
It's not a skill thing. He'd do the same to Floyd. He'd get tagged with counter rights, but he'd still get inside and get clinched up.

Please. Porter is like a caveman coming in with his head. Brook is the only one actually boxing and landing clean punches. Porter is playing football.
