Lucas requested a catchweight of 141 so Peterson's belt wouldn't be on the line because if it was for his belt, Lucas would have lost his mandatory position to Garcia. I think Rubio is tired of waiting around and/or was paid some "go the hell away" money. ok. I didn't think Rubio would get/take a GGG fight for this reason. But if he gets a title shot and gets an additional sum as you suggest than I can see why he'd jump at the chance to fight near home. I think that's unfair. Fighting GGG and losing should have no bearing on your WBC mandatory status.
