Hypothetically speaking, lets say Golovkin moves up to 168 for his next fight and fights and beats Carl Froch in impressive fashion.... Would that put him top 5 on the universal "P4P" list?
There is a lot of people on NSB who think Froch is overrated, and a lot of other posters think he's a top 5 "P4P" fighter.
How much credit would Golovkin get for beating Froch at this point in his career? (in his first fight at 168)
ALL the credit. ALL OF IT. That is a fight GGG could very easily lose. Froch's chin is for real his will is unbreakable and he can crack himself. This is the fight I want the most. THE MOST.
100% completely agree. Best fight in the sport. Absolutely the best.
The people that don't like him and say he is nothing but a hype job will continue to say the same thing. In the last year he has crushed two top 5 middleweights in less than 3 rounds each but some still say "who has he ever beat". I think where he comes from has much to do with why he gets so little credit for the amazing things he does in the ring. I think he is the best pfp and would expect him to beat Froch even though Froch is an excellent 168 pounder.
No he hasn't. But I meant selling out a soccer stadium regardless of the opponent (non domestic opponent)
Well he could sell out smaller stadiums with Golovkin. Just not Wembley
Wlad has never done 80,000 tickets as far as I know.

Oh okay. I was under the impression Carl Froch could completely sell out any stadium in England, regardless of the opponent.
I thought he was like the Wlad of England. But I guess the domestic aspect of Froch-Groves is what sold 80,000

Froch-Golovkin would not fill Wembley Stadium. No one knows who Golovkin is over here.
Would probably fill the City Ground in Nottingham but it'd be Froch selling virtually all the tickets.

That would not be a bad idea. Although, I definitely do not want to see him fight Ward in his first 168lb fight (which wouldn't happen anyway)
At this point, I would like him to fight Froch or Chavez Jr in his next fight at 168 over anything else at 160 besides a unification.
My absolute #1 preference would be Cotto but that obviously isn't happening. Golovkin needs the big names now.
Should he beat froch as I suspect, he will have earned his p4p ranking. If he beat JCC jr, he will make more dough but its not as big a win.
You don't go to 168 permanently when canelo and Cotto are going to be at 160. those fights will come, just not now.
He will indeed be a small SMW, which is one reason why he should get a boat load of credit if he pulled it off.
But what do you mean it wouldn't fit Wembley?? It would be too big or too small??

Froch is a tough SOB. No doubt.
Wouldn't fill Wembley. It's hard to say because Golovkin hasn't been tested and never fought at 168, he seems a bit small for the weight. I'd have to pick Froch

I see. In your opinion, who wins? Froch-Golovkin, Wembley Stadium.... October/November. What's the outcome?

GGG should treat 168 like Floyd treats JMW-go there to fight the big fights, defend your title/unify/fight for lineal title at MW other fights. Froch, JCC jr, and Ward are the only 168lbers I care to see him fight at the moment.

You know what, I agree.
I want Golovkin to fight Froch next. Anything less would be a severe disappoint, IMHO.
No more MW's unless its a unification (which isn't happening) He's clearly better then every other MW by a light year and even Golovkin detractors agree.
Before I had no problem with him being the next Hagler, but now I would like to see him fight Froch/Kessler/Bika/Dirrell, etc, at 168
He's that good. You also make a great point about if he loses he could just drop back down to MW and by that point, he could probably unify with whatever titlist is available (if he were to lose)
