I'm a Garcia fan but agree with most on here that he has natural talent in abundance probably because he's always been around the gym and top level fighters & trainers from a young age , but I don't think he has the passion for the sport like some fighters do.
Mikey is an exceptional talent. I see a lot special in him, my point was more about his attitude. Boxing isn't a sport where you can only be 95% dedicated to.
You are either all in, or things won't end well.
Ya i don't think he's into boxing anymore.
he was never that much into it to begin with. he never liked it, gave it a try because of his family and found out he was really good at it. thing is lots of those guys end up staying around a long time, its like they dont appreciate it until its gone. michael moorer and jermain taylor are perfect examples of this.
I'd love to see the guy go after greatness. but you can never fault a guy for retiring.
Pretty rare to see a guy as good as him, who doesn't really love the sport.
I'm sure a ton of professionals are burned out, and tired with boxing. However, they have a competitive desire to prove themselves that seems to be missing with Mikey.

He'll be 31-32 years old in 5 years, should be around the time most fighters should start hanging them up.
I disagree with this, it really varies from boxer to boxer and certain factors; what age did they start, how much punishment have they taken...ect. Some guys are totally shot before hitting 30 while others are barely hitting their fighting prime around that age or older.
In another video, he said that he never liked boxing, and still doesn't. He said he was pushed into it by his father and brother.
I think if he faces any adversity in the ring, he will quit. Just my opinion.
That's what I've been saying as well. I think he quit with Salido.
Dude has had way too many give me easy fights courtesy of Bob Arum. Sure he has skills but to me skills truly shine against who are a real challenge to you.

Yeah. I understand its a business, but its also a sport. If he doesn't really care about boxing he should probably just keep it to himself.
He can retire right now if he wants, no big deal. Probably wants to accumulate enough money to live comfortably for the future. Nothing wrong with that, but he doesn't seem to have that desire and excitement for the sport.

Well it's no secret that boxing was far from Mikey's first choice for a career but he was "naturally" talented at it as they say, so he pursued it. Under those circumstances im not surprised at all that he already has retirement on his mind
