I mean morally criminal, not legally, obviously.
The fact is Salka had no business at all being in the ring with someone like Danny who is waaaaaay bigger than him, and also has the cushion of a two pound catch weight! Making a dude come up two divisions and have the nerve to give yourself even more weight?
Salka had no choice as a fighter. He couldn't very well turn down the biggest pay day of his life, so he was in effect exploited by GB and Garcia.
And he paid the price for this, by getting brutally knocked out as well knew he would. At two weight divisions down, he only has 3 knockouts! So his power at a weight above jr welter is going to be even significantly less than his paper fists already deliver.
Well your 42. You're in a little different position than a 22 yr old lol. He could have done a clottely and still would have got paid the same
Which proves my point. They found someone they knew needed the money bad enough he would take such a dangerous mismatch. Heck, alot of guys who are legit 140lb guys or lightweights ranked higher than #77 would have taken that fight had they been asked. But yet they still chose Salka.
the salka.
bang your chest, then temporarily black out.
naw it's the bang your chest then flail your arms while leaning back..repeat the sequence in a circle lol
Lol.
The other funny thing about this fight and his upcoming non title fight with Peterson is, it proves how little faith everyone has in Garcia. His promotional company, his father/trainer, and even himself. No one thinks he can legitimately hang onto his belt.
I think this non title fight between Peterson and Garcia is the next dark chapter in boxing. I could see this becoming a norm, where fighters make all their tough fights non title ones. I just don't understand how he can have two nontitle fights in a row!
Incredible. And terrible at the sametime, they've made a sham out of the sport.
Dany "swift" garcia has started A new dance craze.. instead of salsa it's now called the salka, and it's hitting the dance scene in puerto rico hard.
let's give it up to dsg for creating this new dance craze..:boxing:

dunno about you guys, but that 2 round blitz was awesome to watch.
now we're a bunch of fukn mother teresa's in this joint. gtfoh.
You enjoyed the beat down
Salka got to head line a main event on Showtime in Barclays center and was paid 125k for 2 rounds of work. Not so bad IMO.

It did feel f**ked up. It was like matching up an NFL team against a junior college 7 on 7 football team. Salka was ranked so incredibly low, how he even found his way on the radar for this fight was amazing.
There were 76 guys ranked ahead of Salka at his weight. Seventy-six.
Not all of us, as I sure wouldn't. But I'm in good enough financial shape to not have to get KO'd in a dangerous mismatch for the money while Rod Salka apparently is not.
It's like saying those teenage girls selling their bodies are making a choice about their fates. Sure, they technically made that choice, but their circumstances are why they made the choice. It's called exploitation.

If you told me I was fighting the champ and paying me $125k to be on TV, I'll gladly accept anything that's coming my way. I'm a grown man and I know what I'm getting myself into.
Pay him 100k to get knocked out? Na. Anyone of us woulda gladly accepted that. He chose his fate

Who cares!! This a boxing ! The fight game ! Its not a tickling contest ! Stop blaming danny saying he made this dude come up in weight , rod salka knew he was smaller , if rod salka didnt want to fight then he didnt have to accept the fight ! Yes this was a complete mismatch i agree with that and there was no reason for this fight ! Blame al haymon and goldenboy . !
Danny was given a job to do and he did it , he went in there an dam near took that kids head off ! And im happy as hell that he knocked him the **** out , now maybe golden boy and al haymon will stop wasting everyones time with these ridiculous matches .

This
Rod Salka signed a contract, he knew exactly what this was going in. Hes a grown man. No one tricked him and forced him to do anything. He knew from jump. This isn't DSG failing to make weight or some ****. There was nothing at all morally wrong about it. It was wrong in the sense that it was a crap fight that should have never happened. But boxers box. That's their jobs. This is the meaning of the sport. People make it seem like this was the most irrepressible thing that's ever happened in this sport. It wouldn't even make the list of the top 100. Move on already.
That's because you're easily bought and have little dignity.
That's was poetic and you are to be commended for such beautiful worlds. But in my real world where it takes me about a year and a half to make that money. I would gladly make that money in less than ten minutes.
Pride is a sin especially if your too proud not to take that money for your kids.
