I'd believe it if it was anyone els but thisis Carl froch....he has probably the deepest resume in the last 7 years ...I don't see him being scared of anyone
Froch doesn't know what he's talking about. Both Danny Jacobs and J'Leon Love both see flaws in Golovkin that they can beat him with.
Haven't watched Danny Jacobs fight yet- but J'Leon Love, you're having a laugh right?!? He has skills but Golovkin would most certainly KO him. Golovkin's team would absolutely jump at the opportunity to make that fight but it will never be happen.
Froch is way too old to be in a war against Golovkin, the mans given us his last ounce of fight he deserves a big payday and a relatively decent scrap too where whether win or lose he takes enough to be able to live a comfortable lifestyle after it.
Coming from a GGG fan.
ggg should get a new nickname oponents would fight me if the price is right:smashfrea
lol in translation were gonna get our ass beat for the right price.Quilin and Froch logic.....
Froch didn't say that though, money isn't his primary motivation.
The part you read about the "right deal" was his promoter Eddie Hearn speaking.
I think it's telling that Froch says "we'll avoid him", but then says "I'll fight him". He's being advised.
you can take damage in a golovkin fight equal to several fights with andre ward.
froch is 37 years old. he's been taking shots in victory and defeat for a long while now. he's fought some real punchers. pascal, abraham, bute, groves, dirrell, taylor, kessler all have power.
punchers ring your f#cking bell. you can't take those big shots forever.
you guys all get that, correct? that managers avoid golovkin because of the damage to the careers of their fighters, not just to avoid the loss.
Yep. Eddie Hearn and Dibella have made it pretty clear. Though doesn't seem to care about matching Mora with GGG.
Golovkin needs to earn a fight with Froch. Knocking out Ward might do the trick...
Nah seriously, i doubt this fight happens. GGG is just too risky for Froch at this stage of his career.

I get it , I totally agree with your logic. Problem is alot of people want fighters to fight everyone no matter what. They think if they were boxers they would take on all comers even if they knew it could ruin them.

He probably won't sign that extension. He wants away from Arum.
The other option is to take (a lot) less money. He doesn't want to take less money, and he doesn't want an extension. Someone is gonna have to budge.

i appreciate his candor. i don't blame froch for not wanting to fight a vicious puncher like golovkin at his age. he can make more money elsewhere. he doesn't need golovkin. if he beats him, people will discredit the win. "golovkin beat nobody, was a middleweight," they'll say. i said the same for martinez, and i'll say the same for froch and cotto. i don't blame them for taking easier fights.
kudos to froch for his candor. the guy is a freaking hero. his woman is smoking hot. i'd be nuts deep for the rest of my life. 4 kids, then she gets her tubes tied. f#ck boxing.
Isn't this the exact same interview that Dirk posted already with Groves and the mediator?
No....This is him reacting to HBO using the quote from that interview.
Ward brings in no money but Kid Chocolate is a real cash cow. He does what any star fighter does. Hand picks his own opponents. No different from Manny and Floyd except Manny and Floyd have earned the right to.
Jr's next fight is the last with TR. Jr doesn't take Froch just like that.
So what's the problem because he doesn't want to sign an extension? The money changes fight to fight, it isn't like Arum is trying to lock him into a 3 year deal where he can't make more than 2 million. He offered the guy nearly 18 million for 3 fights, that was his minimum pay out and could have been more on PPV.
F*ck Chavez Jr, he doesn't want to lose again like when Sergio beat his ass. He wants to leave Arum, go to Al Haymon where he can go the Danny Garcia route and fight guys 3-4 divisions under him for not as much money, but a lot and in a much easier fight. The Al Haymon way, boxers love it but it gets you no respect or admiration in the sport.

Froch will fight him if the money is right I have no doubt and he won't be asking for the sort of cash Junior and Ward want BUT and this is a big but....why should he? I rarely say this about a fighter but Froch is 38 and gone through several wars, his fought guys like Pascal, Bute, Kessler, AA, most of these bouts coming back to back and all of them dangerous punchers.
Why should Froch be denied a big money fight with the less dangerous DeGale and a unification with BIka if he so wishes? He barely has a year or 2 left in the sport.
So is Chavez Jr negotiating his way out of another nig fight? Say it aint so... but it is #BOXING*— Steve Kim (@steveucnlive) August 7, 2014
