Inspired by Anorak's thread and Max Kellerman's "FREAKIN" embarrassing interview with Hopkins and Kovalev last night.
What are some of the other cringeworthy Kellerman moments you can remember?
My personal favourite is from the Joe Calzaghe-Roy Jones Jr fight where in the second round, Kellerman proclaims,
"ROY Jones JUNIOR is making Joe CalZAGHE look like an OLD Felix TriniDAD"
Calzaghe immediately proceeds to beat up, clown and take the piss out of Jones for the remainder of the fight :lol1:

According to whom ? You? Your the same mofo that said Cobra was being tongue in cheek about GGG when he was dead serious.
GTFO with that bs.
According to the evidence presented.
He was being tongue-in-cheek but believe what you will.
He often isn't right which I think is the theme of the thread.

In hindsight it's easy to say all this. When it happened everyone was talking about how getting James Kirkland under control would be a good thing. Which is what Kellerman was getting at in the first part of the video. It obviously didn't end up being that way.
Anne Wolfe has said she was crazy. They had segments on Real Sports about Kirkland training and how crazy it was.
You're just being way to critical right here. No one is going to be right all the time. He wasn't right and admitted Kirkland was better off with Wolfe than without her.

It's unprofessional to make an inference like that if he "doesn't understand" the relationship between Wolfe and Kirkland. Isn't it his job to understand? To suggest that it was a good thing he left Wolfe before he'd even had a fight without her seems dumb to me. And then he just looked like a tit going back on it.

I don't see anything unprofessional about him saying "the perception is she's a little crazy because of the way she trains you"
Have you seen his training videos? Like I said, this video is a reach to say the least

If he doesn't understand, then why make a comment and say that Anne Wolfe is "a little crazy". It just seems....I dunno....a little unprofessional don't you think?

This is a reach. He just didn't understand what Anne Wolfe meant to Kirkland until after the fight against Ishida. I don't see anything cringe worthy about that video.

Here's another gem I found...

Max has forgotton more about this sport than most on this site will ever know. He is a true historian of the sport ans come a long way in the sport of boxing to be where he is today getting paid big bucks from the biggest cable network on the air.
Nobody is debating that. But as a professional you should have some decorum. He has shown some serious lapses in judgement in the past, due to his fanboyism.
He said Povetkin vs Chambers reminded him of Ibeabuchi vs Byrd. If anyone can tell me where the resemblance between those fights, or the fighters in them, lie, I'd be indebted to him.
Jesus, lighten up. It's supposed to be a humorous thread. I don't "hate" the guy. Just think he's annoying and a bit sh1t.
Unfortunately yes....Williams then proceeded to get schooled by Carlos Quintana :lol1:
well, he has been comparing GGG with joe louis, so it isn't that strange in the end

Agreed. I dont know why people hate on him so much. He does make a lot of comparisons and likes to name drop old fighters, but that's because he's trying to connect today's generation of fighters with the past. This helps keep old fans around while selling the new guys.
I like his analysis because he always backs up his arguments with evidence. You might not agree with his conclusions, but he rarely just makes anything up. Also, he never gets super emotional. He will get excited sometimes, but he never flies off the handle like Lamps or Paulie.

did he say that?? for real?? :lol1:

His endless love for Judah was embarrassing - "a combo of Tyson and Whitaker".
People say he was great on ESPN, but he was more of a fanboy on there than he is on HBO, where he's toned it down. On ESPN, he was saying Byrd got pepper sprayed from foreign substance on Wlad's gloves, and that's why his eyes were swollen.
All in all, being a fanboy is fine as long as you're going to be fair to the other guy - on ESPN, this wasn't the case but on HBO Kellerman has been pretty fair.
Buy this man a scotch!!! 1000% accurate post!!
I understood what he meant there though... he said he struggled to find an accurate comparison and admitted the Louis one wasn't exactly accurate, but just simply how GGG is an offensive machine, effortlessly letting off power punches in a precise but measured way, stalking and knocking his opponents out is a good enough comparison.
