It seems to me that GGG is indirectly being set up by his team to lose... If you looked at his performance you should notice that yes gale was in no way a real problem but we saw gennady fall in love with his power and abondon most essential boxing tool .. A jab ..not only in this fight, but had he thrown it more instead of just slowly walking gale and others down .. He could have really got that guy out .. Not jut scared him away.. But back to the point , unless he starts to utilize things like his jab I see him getting the donair treatment from a guy like Ward.. A much more complete fighter
He is the BEST Middleweight in the World!
No one at 160 is better, he has proven this for a few years now. There's a reason Sergio took the Cotto offer. He actually thought his size was enough to take Cotto's shots, he was wrong! GGG KO's Sergio brutally, and easily.
He defeats Sergio any time during Sergio's career, Sergio has no power!
Defeating Paul was his best accomplishment, he got by a Pavlic who had serious problems and other than that had done nothing.
Give credit when it's due, and GGG has earned it!
Ray.
You say give credit then belittle all of Sergio's accomplishments lol. The guy was the lineal champ for like 5 years. He beat some of the same guys GGG has, but much earlier. Sergio was a shell of his best against Cotto.
The man shuts down. He puts up his guard and waits for his turn to exchange. Granted, he makes efforts to counter punch but he's not particularly good at that. He has gotten by because of the poor level of competition but I fear he'd be lost against any higher level boxers.
There's only one guy who can beat him from 154-168 and that's Andre Ward. Honestly there would be no shame in losing seeing how Ward is either the best or second best fighter on the entire planet.

Dude your over thinking this, he went in testing the waters in round 1, he knew then what Geale was about.
It was his Madison Square Garden debut, dya actually think he was gonna fight all defensive on that big stage?
It's Gennady man "I just, Love very much you know, you want good drama you call me"
he does freezes some times. But i think its ok, he makes his opponents miss and continues his work.
But he can stand and trade, the punch that ko'd Gaele was in the mid of an exchange, a counter right hand.
I think people are going overboard with the 'Ward would expose Golovkin' stuff tbh.
You don't expose a fighter as good as Golovkin, you just don't. You may beat him, but great fighters rarely get exposed. I'd tab Ward-Golovkin to be a Damn good fight.
like who? andre ward? sure, but who else? super middleweights.
golovkin had 350 amateur fights with 5 losses. he's not going to just get overwhelmed by the first guy who is a "higher level boxer."
When people keep saying he'll be exposed by Andre Ward, is that really exposed? If it takes Andre freaking Ward to expose Golovkin, Golovkin must be a really good fighter.
Oh, if he fought someone with Stevens's power and Geale's movement and Cotto's experience, newflash! There aren't many fighters like that in the entire sport.

dude....
what are you talking about?
golovkin has a huge jab.
you don't need to be flicking the thing out there 30-40 times a round and dancing to ahve a good jab. golovkin has a phone pole type of jab. it's arguably his best punch. it's one of the more effective power jabs in the sport.
His jab was sharp in the first.
exactly, I don't know if these people were paying attention but he landed a couple of great stiff jabs in the first
ggg did stop when geale landed a couple of body shots while trying to turn ggg which makes me wonder if ggg would stand and trade if he was being being tagged by a goog inside fighter (like Ward or froch) or instead just wait for his turn to attack
Geale is pretty high level.
Who that can fight him at 160 is elite enough to beat him? And if you can't name anybody in an entire division that has a chance does that not in of itself say the level GGG is at? How far do we have to go to find a guy that could beat/compete with him? the no 2 p4p in the world a weight above him? Or do you think cotto would back him up and beat him? i'd happily wager you on that one if the fight ever happens.
? or if you're not willing does that mean cotto is not 'any higher level fighter'? Can't have it both ways...

actually people trying to stand toe to toe/trying to force him back would perfectly suit GGG

I think a bigger problem is that, while he's brilliant when he's allowed to stalk a guy, he can't fight off the back foot. That's fine against the Rosados and Geales of the world but he will hit a brick wall when he faces a top guy because of this. Hopefully he'll start using these can crushing matches as an opportunity to work on these skills.

His jab is excellent, and he uses it brilliantly to move opponents back.
He felt what Geale had to offer, knee he could walk through it and went into seek and destroy mode for a good TKO win.
You realise they mentioned he lands more jabs per round than any other boxer in compubox history. And he threw 92 jabs in the fight landing 33 which is on par with the 11.2 or so hes landed on avg. Over the last 5 fights
