If Degale Beat Froch More Impressively Than Ward Is He #1 @ 168 and P4P top 3?

Froch always seems like he is ripe for the taking but he always finds a way to pull through. Honestly it's pretty bad @ss how far Froch has gotten with his boxing technique. It is all will and power for Froch.

It is posts like this that make me wonder if the poster has any knowledge of boxing whatsoever.

I doubt he beats Froch better than Ward, I think he'll have a hard time with it. The question should be, would Ward be willing to face Degale if he beats Froch? That's not a certainty. Edit. To answer the question, hell no. He still has a loss to Groves he must avenge and has to actually fight & beat Ward if he wants to be considered the best in the division. I just doubt that Ward would fight him. If he does, Ward wins but I'm not sure he'll want to make the fight.

My point was that he earning more than double Golovkin, who is considered a major star therefore he must be doing well business wise if he is earning more than double what a so-called major star is. By your logic, Golovkin is also being outearned by Groves who is 'barely past prospect level'. But we all know that logic is flawed, you are using one exceptional example knowing full well Groves don't earn what Ward does overall. 1) GGG is not a "major star" yet. He is on his way to become one though. 2) The only reason Ward made more in his last fight than Golovkin was because HBO grossly overpaid him, which they won't do again. 3) Who cares about how much they make? If a fighter is automatically better than anyone who makes less than him, then Chavez Jr. is a better fighter than Rigo.

No. Why do people act like Froch is Ward's only win? He cleaned out SMW in the Super Six tournament. Ward is clearly the man at 168, with Froch being a distant second.

Ward is the top guy at 168. You'd have to beat him to become that guy. Not necessarily, if someone cleaned out the current division and Ward continued to stay on the sidelines then I'd consider them no.1 at SMW. Be a bit of a 1 - 1a situation though. No one is close to doing that though. except for maybe Froch with a few more wins (that he likely wont get due to chasing money fights to finish his career)

Lol you can be sarcastic but you are the one who mentioned George Groves out of the blue. Yeah because Ward was out earned by a guy who is barely past prospect level. I didn't even mention Froch who probably earned 4 or 5 times what Ward earned. Ward needs to swallow his pride on a few issues if he wants to make big money....which he clearly does.

Groves was in one mega fight in the UK, we will see what his purses are in the future before comparing him to ward. Right now, it's clear that Ward has made more in career purses than Groves. Well woop de doo.

In his last fight with Rodriguez he earned more than double what Golovkin is earning tonight, the guy who is considered the major draw. If Ward is earning more than double of what a so-called big star like Golovkin is he must be doing well. Well he probably earned half of what George Groves earned so that's questionable.

1) Ward exposed Kessler's complete lack of inside fighting skill and beat him up. 2) Bika is still very much relevant, and no one has ever "battered him from pillar to post". Not even Joe, who was #2 P4P at his best. 3) I have never seen anyone beat Abe more convincingly than Ward. It wasn't spectacular, but he easily won every round and was never in any danger. Froch beat Abe up more, but was badly hurt himself in the later rounds. 4) Dawson... yes, I'm serious. Dawson was the consensus #1 at LHW at the time, with a win over Hopkins (which people like to pretend didn't happen these days). ^ This. Ward's skills and credentials cannot be questioned. His management and business ethics can however.

Does Degale take the number one spot at 168 if he beats Froch more impressively than Ward, whether it's by either a wider /clearer points margin or by KO? Froch just needed to win one more round for that fight to be an official draw by judges. And by extension, since a lot of people have Ward in their top 3 p4p list, does Degale then take Ward's spot as one of the top 3 p4p fighters in the world? Are you high by any chance?

No, it wouldn't mean anything like that. First Ward beat a much, much, much younger Froch than he would be beating. Froch has not looked very good lately. 2nd Ward didn't get his high rating at 168 and pfp just for beating Froch but for beating all the top 168 pounders. So it would not be fair or logical to rate DeGale over Ward based on DeGale beating an over the hill Froch better than Ward beat a prime Froch. Let DeGale earn his spot as the best 168 pounder in the world by beating all the top guys the way Ward did and not just beating Froch.

Of course, it's literally the reason Ward is where he is right now so why doesn't DeGale get that same honour, especially considering Froch is currently on the greatest roll of his career. Degale easily becomes the second best SMW in the world behind King Ward even if he wins a close, but clear UD. Abraham is a European champion. Bika is a paper champion.
