Gamboa's PR people have been teasing an announcement for about 2 weeks now. Some people think it will be a fight on HBO possibly against Uchiyama as gamboa hinted on his twitter account , but also there is something else brewing. According to Willie Suarez says that Gamboa has a few deals on the table one of them is to join Al Haymond , another one is from K2 promotions (this deal has been on the table even before the crawford fight). Right now it is not clear whether the new deal would buy the contract out from 50 or if 50 would be a co-promoter. At this point it seems to be just a hobby for 50, like i told NYC the other day with all the stuff he got going on there is no way he is taking this boxing thing seriously, specially when it doesn't bring him any money. Anyways hopefully there will be an announcement soon, HBO does want to bring him back, so it looks like his career is not over, like I first thought when crawford destroyed him. It's unclear if those are the only 2 deals he has on the table or if he has more, since they have only revealed that information. One thing I know, if he doesn't get rid of his dad and hires a new trainer it wont mean a damn thing.
Well, who else deserves to be recognized as the best at 130? It has to be Uchiyama until proven otherwise.
Agreed, not many people know who he is though and people only talk about Mikey
But I say it is only my opinion (and yours) as theres no lineage at this weight
K2 Promotions wouldn't be bad for Gambao, they seem to be building a good relationship with HBO so that would help keep Gamboa on HBO at least compared to signing with Haymon or GBP and moving to Showtime
Im with you man, i honestly think Uchiyama is the best at 130

Oh
Well there was talks before... I'd take Uchiyama via late TKO

But Uchiyama has looked like he's been slipping lately
I don't know, Gamboa's plenty good enough to beat Uchiyama IMO.
Why would his career be over because of one lost to good fighter? As long as hes entertaining in the ring like his last fight, his career will go on. Fans like to see guys fight.

He needs to sign with GBP or Al Haymon but no to TR and 50 Cent.
Agree! They can make him a star and build him up nicely...have a nice stacked card with Lara and Gamboa....night of Cuban boxers!
Uchiyama-gamboa is a great fight to make.. I like gamboa, I think he will overwhelm uchiyama with his combination of speed and power..
Winner should be in line for a huge fight with mikey Garcia
id LOVE that to happen but sadly i think Mikey's team are doing their best to avoid matching them up.

I'd love to see that fight....or any of Gamboa's. A fighter can improve and I think he will. A little tempering of his style and approach and he will win another title.
