I understand he didn't KO1 Lara and Trout or beat Floyd, but if you recognize that he'll probably always have trouble with "slick" boxers, he's fought them all pretty well and kept it close. He's done well for a style that troubles him and actually fought good guys at a high level with that style.
Hahahahahahahahah he completely got dominated by floyd, barely beat trout, and I thought Lara won.
Canelo hung with Floyd like a little brother tries to smoke cigarettes with his infinitely cooler older brother. He takes controversial decisions over Trout and Lara in fights that could've gone either way but gets the wild-WTF-shutout scorecards in both cases.
I don't deny the kid's talent but consider this; Canelo knows all he has to do is not get thoroughly dominated (like in the Floyd fight) and not get knocked down or knocked out (against much smaller guys in Floyd and literally everyone he fought before Trout or against guys not known for one-shot power like Trout, Lara, and even Angulo who breaks you down through an accumulation of damage), and he'll get a decision on the cards.
You gave him 5 rounds and have been crying robbery for weeks. How exactly is it out of the realm of possibility that he won two more rounds? Your admitting it was a close fight and you watched the fight thinking he was going to get robbed.
Carlos Baldomir hung in there with Floyd what's your point?
Hes got a great resume for a 22 year old for sure.
I didnt like him pre Trout, he just seemed a pampered star making big money/winning paper titles but fighting crap opp.
He's impressed me recently though. I thought Angulo could beat him, I thought Lara would beat him and Trout as well :lol1: Time I started giving the Irishman some respect.
7-5 Lara. What did Canelo do to win?
Just curious

Canelo has fought tough fights recently and you have to respect that. At this point he is no longer protected. Lara had his chance to school and embarass him and he couldn't. Close either way but I hate the running. I was surprised Canelo took this fight and expected him to avoid Lara or similar guys. He has literally fought everyone that he has been asked to and only lost to the best guy out there.
I respect who he's fought. And he's clearly a very good boxer. But anyone with a brain can tell he's obviously protected. He basically gets shutout against Floyd, and he gets a frickin draw on one scorecard and on another he was given 4 rounds. On paper it looks like he was competitive but honestly you'd be hardpressed to find him 1 round that he won. The scores for that fight were the same for Maidana/Floyd.
Against Trout, he gets a ridiculously wide UD victory. One judge gave him 10 rounds, another gave him 9. And now he gets that one score card which gave him 9 rounds against Lara?! Honestly neither guy really had a true chance to win on the scorecards.
You could hate on Canelo up until the Lopez fight (but in fairness he did try and set up fights with Paul Williams and Victor Ortiz before that) but you can't hate on the kid now.
He fought two guys people swore he would never get in the ring with and even his team told him not to fight. He fought the best in the world. Yeah he got dominated but in a few years people will chalk this up to inexperience if he keeps winning. No lose situation as he wasn't hurt, made a huge payday, and raised his stock and exposure.
Angulo was a decent fight coming off a loss. A guy that showed great power and is a dangerous puncher even in his losses. Funny how some of the people who swore Angulo would beat Canelo aren't even around here or are posting under alts.
Canelo has shown to be a guy that is willing to take on the challenges now that he has a say in his opponents.
Modern day boxing fans are fikle as fuck, they are stuck in the past while ignoring the future. Canelo is a throwback who will be battling for respect his entire career. Just like at DLH he dominated 3-4 divisions and still gets nothing because he was a pretty boy faggot according to these experts.
