Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri 144 CW: Who wins?

aite no catchweight but still fight wasnt either at 140 or 147 sooo? why can't manny just fight at 140 or 147? join at 2009 and still with this noob post, WTF?? You can come at anyweight as long is not overweight, example Manny vs Margarito is for LMW title catchweight at 150lbs, at the weigh-in Manny only weight 144.6 lbs(is not even reach WW) and margarito weight at 150lbs.

I've changed my stance on this fight. I think Algieri's size and reach will have a significant enough impact for the fight to end in a Draw.

Given the history of events i'm going to go ahead and say that Manny Pacquiao did indeed request a catch weight for this fight. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri... "The Catch Weight Don strikes Again", that should be the name of the event. let's just say the fighter who is heavier at fight night got the BENEFIT of 144 catch weight. an unbiased person would probably think of that first.

I personally don't consider JMM and Cotto as great Mayweather wins, they are just ok fights in his resume. Saul Alvarez team was the one who suggested the 152 catch weight, Canelo was still the bigger, stronger and younger one in the ring that night. Cotto was 145 in his fight prior to Manny (Mannys 2nd time at WW after Oscar dragged him up) and Pacquiao also fought Hatton at a weight where Hatton never lost. Why did Floyd drain Canelo? As of right now the world is that this fight would be at a 144 catch weight, i don't know if they will change their minds later on.. Am willing to bet that it will be at a full 147. I predicted Marquez/Pac 4 was going to be at 147 way before Marquez was even talked about as Pac's next oppoenent.

Everyone loves to act as if Victor Ortiz was in the same place he is now when he fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fact remains that when Floyd faced Victor he was holding the WBC welterweight belt and was a top 5 WW in the world, not to mention he was a younger and stronger fighter.
