Group stages are done. This so far has been a great tournament, with everything from the Suarez bite to the phenomenal play of messi. IMO the biggest star so far has been james of Colombia he's turning into a star right in front of the world. How about England,Spain,Portugal, and Italy's early exit. Beautiful goals from gervhino, van Persie and so on. This thread is all things World Cup so discuss on what we have seen and how you thing the rest of the tournament plays out.
They have to cater to the latin american teams first though because their audience is mostly hispanic. But in between the latin american teams Mexico is mentioned a bunch of times. Every other day Mexico is mentioned at least one even if they were to get eliminated I believe. Brazil and Argentina are hardly mentioned and they are the powerhouses of South America.
I feel ya, if you watch espns coverage they cater to the United States so Univision caters to mexico. No biggie the coverage on both networks is great. We should just sit back and enjoy this beautiful tournament that only comes once every 4 years. Golazoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
I understand that but I guess it just annoys me. It feels like they are TOO bias at times. And I feel like they just bandwagon. Btw its not just me. A lot of peoplw arouns town are complaining about it too and I heard they're also complaining about it on Facebook. To the point where people just want Mexico to lose.
With that said, I love the commentary. Much better than the English channel (ESPN).
I would be annoyed too if I weren't Mexican. The national team is the cash cow(A side) when it comes to futbol it's what sells so that's what they focus on. The amount of Mexicans that watch Univision is just top high for them not to make them their main target group, and it's been like that forever until Mexico loses they'll just adopt Brazil or Argentina.
I didn't see Clint Dempsey or Jermaine Jones on the list of choices which prevented me from voting.
There in the "other" poll option. They've been playing good so far in the cup but not better than the 9 imo

If you're talking about the commentators yes. They're fans of the sport. You rarely see any bias if any from them. But as I said above, I'm talking about the shows covering the world cup before and between games. Very bias. They rarely mention any European team too.
Bc that channel is mostly for mexicans. Who do you want them to ride cuba?:killyou:lmao
Mexican players have always been talented. It's always been the mental aspect of the game where they've been lacking.
Univision revolving their World Cup attention around Mexico shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. It's owned by Mexicans and watched by mostly Mexicans of course their going to cater to their audience.
Officiating has been awful in Mexico's World Cup games. Hopefully we catch some breaks this Sunday.

Mexico has great talent with solid players but they seem to lack that finishing touch to score, too many close calls with missed clear opportunities. Mexico has so much support for their team its no surprises the spanish channel revolves around "El Tri" which makes up the largest latino population in 'Merica, this is so evident during matches in the U.S against Mexico. Also has anyone noticed all the missed calls "for" Mexico, Dos Santos gets 2 goals nulled against Ghana. The clear handballs against Croatia, one inside the penalty box. Also i remember against Brazil there was a offside player that "headed" the ball and the ref waited for the play to finish only to call offside after a missed opportunity which looked really weird.

Tim Howard muthaphuckas. No England. US in the knockout round. Freedom and gong are so angry right now.
:haha:
You probably haven't got the grasp of the offside rule yet
