Who wins? Loma would have been much older with much more experience but Floyd was already beating up champions in sparring at a young age and would become champ around a year later. Obviously Floyd is much better than Russell but Russell was older and had more experience too.
pretty interesting matchup actually. Floyd was may more agressive back then and was actually a big puncher for the weight.
I can see Floyd stopping Vasyl in the latter rounds but i also can see Loma's footwork, speed and body attack giving a young Mayweather some problems.
I would take Floyd mostly because Vasyl's somewhat low workrate.
floyds never been a big puncher at any point in his career, he has always had respectable power, except maybe for those years at 147 before his retirement where he looked near feather-fisted
We will never know. But Loma is unique, in this day and age of cherry picking madness; --he should be appreciated for taking the harder and darker road. Whether he would be successful or not, let's appreciate his warrior way.
Yeah, but Loma actually lost his second fight :D
Going by the smile I am sensing a hint of sarcasm in your response. Clearly Lomachenko fought a dangerous and world championship level fighter in Salido. I stand by my initial assessment. Floyd was built up, they laid the foundations with him. I have his whole career on disc, some of those early performances were shaky, especially his second pro fight, and there were mistakes, as there would be with any 18/19 year old novice pro, no matter how talented. He started looking much more formidable after 10 fights, and by the time he fought Tony Pep it was clear that he was something special who was ready to win a world title. But that was his 17th fight I believe?
If it is the third fight, and I am assuming its 12 rounds, Lomachenko takes it in a close fight.
Yeah, but Loma actually lost his second fight :D
loma won that, plus the guy weighed 11 pounds heavier, cheated with only decent shots to the penis area.
Loma should be undefeated...
After 3 fights? Loma hands down. Come on y'all.
Floyd couldn't even get into clubs yet. Lomachenko is in his prime now, Floyd wasn't yet. Floyd was still fighting 4 rounders. He hadn't even upgraded to 6 rounders yet. Loma has nearly triple the number of amateur fights, won two Olympic Gold Medals, won 7 semi-pro fights and had already been in the ring with top level opposition at the pro level.
What's next? Errol Spence beats Devon Alexander?
A year later when Floyd got more experience under his belt obviously he would win. But you bring fighters up slow for a reason. After 3 fights he wouldn't be ready.

lomachenko got paid in this fight, tell me if you don't see a professional fight in this one...
I am surprised at some of the responses here, who has actually seen Floyd's early fights, he struggled in his second fight for example. Plus he was brought along against journeymen like most prospects. Albeit at a faster pace then normal. If it was both of them in their third fight, I would favour lomachenko, simply because he entered the pro ranks with confidence and the mental and physical toughness to be world champion straight away. With Floyd he started already with the physical, the mental was built up in those early fights. Sparring is not a good barometer either, it can be misleading.
But boxing is about building a career/legacy, and Lomachenko will never come close to achieving what Floyd has, and ultimately that is what is about.

Floyd ,
he started at 130, while Loma is at 126 , he has a longer reach and I think he's also stronger .
At the lower weights he could also pack a good punch , i'd definitely favor him.
Floyd struggled in a couple of his early fights. He improved hugely as he went along. Loma is already at top level.
I would still probably favor floyd but with no confidence.
either way rigo at the same stage beats both.

well one thing I'll admit is that lomachenko's low output in the middle rounds won't necessarily hinder him in this one as it would be a chess match anyway. Floyd probably eeks it out but I can see it being close
Mayweather was scary at 130. He could've easily done what lomachenko did and became world champion in his 3rd fight.
Than why did Jesus Chavez and Carlos famous Hernandez give him so much trouble these guys were B level fighters

Lomachenko embarrasses him like Paul Spadfora did
Loma by decision. Floyd has yet to even face someone with that kind of movement/defensive skill. At 3 fights in he could handle that? Very doubtful.
Terrible argument. The same can be said of Loma.
