I noticed on the most recent IFL TV interview Eddie Hearn mentioned some fighters had been contacted by Al Haymon. Hearn replied how do you know it's really Haymon if it was on the phone?
Either way it's a smart move to make by Haymon, especially if he could tap up future UK superstars like Anthony Joshua and Luke Campbell. Many other UK fighters would match up great with his current stable of fighters too. I'm thinking Khan-Brook, Bika-Degale etc.
What do you guys think?
Haymon-Hearn promotions in the US would be a powerful link-up. Would really shake things up in a big way. Haymon needs some more money behind him if he really wants to take off. Especially now he's lost access to de la hoya's chequebook.
Matchroom US would be a power play.
Haymon is looking for a client to be his proxy promoter and Hearn has said he wants to get into the US market. They could pull this off.
It's funny how the so-called fight fans hate Haymon, but the fighters don't. You have yet to hear of one fighter complaining about him. Even when the fighter only gets one or two bouts a year, they're still not complaining.
with all of the other advisor/managers in the world, not one fighter has said a negative thing about his services. But every time you turn around it's always a fighter that's not with him that's complaining or suing his advisor/management. Like him or not, he seems to be doing his job and doing it well.
Anthony Joshua would be an interesting case, seeing as Ken Hershman was just talking about him in a recent interview.
Exactly. I think Anthony Joshua has Super-Star written all over him with the proper guidance and management. I think he's going to be the biggest HW we've seen since Ali.

lol, now the British Promoters can hop on the lawsuit train. Duva and Barthelamy's promoter already on it
You down to sue Haymon with me dude? F*ck it everyone else is. :grouphug:
I think Haymon has too many fighters he works for right now to do his best for every one of them. Expanding his empire to England will only make it worse.
Unless he plans on dragging UK fighters over to the US, he doesn't have much room to move around in the UK... Hearn practically dominates, especially with that Sky exclusive contract....Boxnation seems to have the rest

...and Hearn is looking to break the US market. Seems like they're going to work in partnership, Haymon scratches Hearn's back and vice versa. Although, Hearn doesn't wanna scratch too low...
Hearn better be careful cause look what Haymon and Schaeffer did to Oscar.

with said roadblock, the partnership bounds to fail miserably.
