Fights starting too late?
Anyone ever consider that the main events are just starting too late these days for viewers on the East coast? I used to always order fights so my grandfather could watch because he loves boxing. But nowadays, some of these ppv main events arent starting until after midnight. As far as im concerned, there's one fight too many on the ppv's. I could do with just 3 fights with good matchups and the main event starting no later than 11pm. Remember a significant number of boxing fans are baby boomers.
I hope they bomb. Too many PPV fights this year.
Canelo-Angulo and Canelo-Lara are not PPV fights. I love the Canelo-Lara matchup but PPV???? I don't think Canelo has warranted any fight being PPV.
I expected 600k. But I guess 400k should have been expected since it was two fighters who are usually B-sides. However Canelo-Angulo did 350k, and no one really cared much for that fight so that kind of indicates to me who the superior PPV seller is between Canelo and Cotto.
A lot of ppl thought it was gonna be a mismatch which could have affected sales
Yup, the irony is it was but not with the outcome everbody thought it would have :lol1:
I am a big fan of the sport so I want all ppvs to do well. Pacquiao, Cotto, Mayweather and Canelo it shows that the sport is doing well. I wont respond to the other comments that think otherwise as I find it creepy to insult people behind a computer.
I find it creepy when people write subliminal replies on message forums.

None of the PPV fights have done well this year.
And what realistic match up possibilities remain the rest of the year that look appealing?
There is nobody out there for Mayweather that will generate 1 million buys other than Pacquiao and we know that aint happening.
There is nobody out there for Pac where he can even do 700,000 buys.
Canelo will be lucky to do 400,000 buys against Lara.
Cotto vs. Canelo could probably do 600,000 or so which would be a success for them I suppose.
Sergio is done.
My point is that boxing is in a rut right now because the best fights are not being made and with the May vs. Pac fight all but dead people are getting bored and tuning away from boxing.
One simple thing happening could change all of this but we all know it won't so we'll be forced to watch a bunch of "B" fights the rest of the year and who knows how long after that.
Cotto vs Floyd could get a million. Pac vs Jmm 5 could get close to a million. Both of those PPVS Could Do more than a million with decent undercards

He wants the sport that he loves to do well?
no he doesn't, he just wants to brag that his fighter got so many views lol this is what NSB often degenerates into.
Anyone have any update on this fight was hoping for 500k
hoping for 500k? why? do you have a stake in the profits?
He may not have had a father growing up. That is to say, he may be a Cotto fan.
