This is crazy amount of money, cristiano ronaldo lebron james and all these other athletes are on ESPN 24/7 and they come nowhere close to him. I like Pacquiao but there is no way he should be asking for a 50/50 split. He almost doubled Pacquio's earning of 41.5 million. Boxing is not dead after all.
He doesn't have to be marketable. If Deontay Wilder becomes HW king, he'll be a crazy big draw. He's ****y, he looks the part, and he has huge power. Only thing holding him back is that no one knows if he's legit or not.
Wilder is a hype job. He actually doesn't much look the part because he's tall, lanky legs and not that powerful compared to many other heavyweights of the past. He just throws that overhand right hand and connects on the bums he's fought. Wilder is just lucky to be around a time where he can pad his record and be considered a contender.
No way. Wilder has a little spark but the guy is nowhere near as talented and marketable as Tyson. He's also nearly 29 years old and I bet it's only a matter of time before he gets exposed. The guy is not an elite heavyweight despite his highlight reel knockouts. Also, Jennings is not a marketable guy either. He has all the skills in the world but lacks that big power. No way is a trilogy between them happens. Neither are anywhere near Tyson's prime level when he was in his early 20s. Wilder and Jennings will never be PPV stars either.

That tax bill is going to massive LOL.
:lol1: Haven't you heard ... the rich don't have to pay their due tax burdens in the good ole USofA. Taxes (@least proportional to income) are only paid fully by the middle and working class wage earner.
Whats funny about this amount is this does not put into account how much he pays his trainers, his corner, lenoard elerbe, and goldenboy. Pacquaio only has to pay his trainer and corners out of his cut. This is all an illusion he uses because he has an enormous payroll to fullfill.

Just goes to show you how great Floyd is marketing himself. Everyone always trashes him as a person but I think it's all largely an act. He seems always respectful of his opponent after the fight but before he's hyping it up and playing mind games with his opponent.

Apart from Canelo, I can't see any fighter reaching these numbers.
I don't think Canelo will get anywhere near that number. He may perhaps do better than Pacquiao but no one is touching Mayweather's numbers anytime soon.
Once Mayweather leaves the sport in a year, you're never going to see these kind of numbers in the sport for a long time unless the second coming of Tyson hits the scene.

I disagree, if Deontay Wilder or Bryant Jennings have a dominant run as the lineal Heavyweight Champion of the World, boxing will be booming. Especially if Willder vs. Jennings happens for say the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship in a trilogy, I could see ESPN, FOX Sports 1, the entire world build up that kind of trilogy to break record PPV numbers.

Exactly! Floyd's the BOSS.

and supposedly all that money is with zero sponsorship. if he had huge sponsorship he'd probably made 500 mil or somethign
