Miguel cotto vs Canelo alvarez Who wins?

Poll reflects the fact it's a toss up. Needs to be made.

Lean towards Cotto. 8-4 decision.

Got my $$$ and points on Gingerkid. Cotto did what he had to do against a shot Martinez so everyone is high on him right now. Canelo isn't shot with old age and bad knees. If he can get by Lara which is no small task I'd like him to fight Cotto next. Be a perfect fight for the fall. Mexican vs. Puerto Rican. I'd gladly pay to see it.

Canelo wins. By late stoppage or decision. Cotto tastes the canvass or kneelz.

that will be the logic if cotto were to fight teen canelo... but even teen canelo end it beating on cottos brother after that lucky punch... what does cotto's brother, a blown up lightweight at that point have to do with this?

i think it's close. cotto's looked good as of late, but i don't think canelo's hit his prime yet so who knows.

Canelo beats this version of Cotto quite easily, especially if its at 160. Cotto fought a good fight but Martinez was done after the first minute and a half. Cotto didn't have to deal with a bigger guy that can walk him down and break his pace, something he has struggled with in his losses outside of Mayweather. Those shots that knocked down Martinez wouldn't faze Canelo and we still haven't seen Cotto have to take a shot form a true middleweight as Martinez couldn't plant and throw due to the knee.

I've never really paid attention to this, but how well does Canelo take a body shot? If well, I think Canelo's way too young, durable, and powerful for Cotto at this point. Wouldn't be surprised if Cotto won, but Canelo throws some serious shots. Nothing about the Sergio fight showed what Cotto can take at this point. Just too much horse power.

Canelo was 19 bro... Cotto has been rocked by uppercuts, does this mean Canelo can TKO cotto with a well placed uppercut? No. Triangle theories suck, don't use them. Exactly. At 19 your brain is supposedly still developing and doesn't stop until you're 25. I think more boxers need to preserve themselves, train and take care of themselves before turning pro. Look at Golovkin for example. The guy is 32 years old and looks younger than most fighters in their 20s.

I think Cotto would hurt Canelo in this fight its a toss up for me Cottos experience might pull it out in the end

Great fight. I think I'd favor cotto a little bit because of his experience and because he has Roach in his corner. 60-40 cotto I think their styles mesh well together because they fight better at a slow tactical pace and both throw great left hooks. But as I said Cotto has a big edge in mega fight experience and her has the best trainer today. Canelo's corner looked like amateurs against mayweather.

Canelo looked vicious when he fought Angulo straight out of the gate. I don't think Cotto would be able to handle that kind of aggressiveness and power. Cotto is usually the one being aggressive but Canelo will back him up all night. The size, weight and power difference will be obvious I feel. Canelo is too young and too strong for Cotto.
