Bob Arum talking cotto.....

Bob Arum telling everyone when Cotto would fight next except he is not cotto's promoter and in the press conference after the fight cotto said he would sit down with Freddie Roach to see what's next never mentioning Arum or Top Rank.... If I'm cotto I would keep being a free agent to give himself more possibilities of different opponents... For example to fight canelo why would he need top rank for??? He has smart lawyers that could work out a good contract!!!!

From everything I read that's what it looks like I think cotto only deals with the son he and arum had a lil bit of issue after the Trout fight DuBoef is helping Cotto get his promotional company off the ground. They co promote most of his fighters too

Miguel's next fight will be on hbo with top rank. He just made 7 million plus with them so why wouldn't he continue his career with them. Cotto vs canelo great way for Gbp to get back on hbo. Plush Miguel has a great relationship with Todd and execs at hbo.

cotto have a good working relationship with todd dubeof...arum said that himself. with how good cotto's career is going on right now i don't think he would want to change anything. he may not be contractually obligated to top rank but i don't think he would want to break his alliance with them...if it's not broken, don't fix it.

I think Cotto has a considerable relationship with Todd DeBeouf. You could see that them two made a bee-line towards eachother. Arum of course is more of the public face. I think Cotto owes a considerable debt to TR and will fight on. I think the Showtime situation had him assess whether he wants to work with Haymon/Showtime. He got paid peanuts against Trout (against the wishes of TR - Arum said he advised against that matchup) and lost. And the cards were dubious at best. Unless Showtime offers more money that is humanely possible - Cotto is staying w/ HBO and TR for his next fight. Canelo can always come and fight on HBO, maybe in a joint promotion. He isn't tied to Haymon - so that is a possibility

Doew anyone know if Cotto has any obligations with Top Rank and/or HBO? Also, we don't know if Cotto had discussed Whats next if hewon, perhaps he and Top Rank already were in talks. Cotto spent most of his career with TR and Obviously has a good relationship. If no Mayweather fight I see no reason for him to fight on Showtime next. No he use top rank the way mayweather did with gbp
