I have watched the fight about four times now. Sergio has said himself he got caught and never recovered. Cotto had the game plan, training and skills to beat him on any night of his career. I have been saying this from the beginning Sergio, while a great athlete is not a great boxer. There was no hobbling or knee issues Cotto is just better. Sergio, the man who fought last night said it himself.
From New York Daily News:
Martinez was taken to Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan following the fight and missed the post-fight press conference. An MRI revealed that Martinez suffered a broken nose, but his right knee and left hand, which had been damaged in his last fight in April of 2013, were fine, Lewkowicz said. DiBella said an additional CT Scan revealed "no abnormalities." Martinez was discharged at 5 a.m. on Sunday and traveled back home to Spain later in the day, Lewkowicz said.
"He got caught with an early shot in the first minute of the fight and then he fought eight rounds and a half only by heart," Lewkowicz said on Sunday. "So how can say that he's old? Everybody wants to be a coach. But the reality is that probably a young man wouldn't have gotten up after the first punch and it would be a KO after the first round."

Just thought I would share this. For those that still talk about the knees. Let me guess the ct scan machine was paid off too lol!
Time to quit playing with yourself and zip up your fly.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping the iq of this thread. No go to sleep grown ups are talking!
Sergio just hasn't mixed in the class of Miguel. Miguel is the first bona fida fighter he fought.
Sure because Miguel couldn't even handle an opponent like Trout, which i'm sure would be stopped by Williams, Pavlik , and a prime Martinez.
roidtinez would eventually become super aggressive with his retarded stamina(whilst having power) at 36 yrs of age, and just block punches with his face as he comes in
if he does that from the beggining he stops cotto, if not, cotto has a chance of taking the first half of the fight and having to survive the second half, ending in a close decision
roidtinez, really? you say that being a pacquiao fan? come on  for the record i never accuse a fighter of doping but the hypocrisy is really funny.
Thats because you probably predict Cotto by KO every fight and you just happened to get lucky cause he fought against a cripple this time.
Trust me when Cotto fights a live body hes getting retired.
Took the words out of my mouth :lol1:

I called what was going to happen perfectly for the last 10 months. I know damn good and well what I saw.

Maybe one day u'll be able to see clearly when you get Cottos massive balls out of your mouth.

It was there for the world to see. Miguel Cotto is on another level to Sergio Martinez and is clearly the more skilled fighter.

Come on, Gift isnt even PR. The guy hates Latinos for Christ sake.
I would have liked to see at the very least a half recovered verison of Martinez so as to put up a fight. With a somewhat recovered Sergio, even at 40 it would have been a great fight win or lose. But to me this not only old (which of course we knew going into the fight) but crippled version of a once great boxer getting his ass kicked, it does nothing for me.
cotto isn't puerto rican neither, wasn't he born in new york? haha
I honestly did not know the word objective was in your vocabulary. I have seen plenty of your post and if you have ever been objective about a Puerto Rican fighter I must have missed it. I cannot take you seriously, sorry.

Youre not being objective and going into nuthugging territory with those claims man. A prime Martinez would have most likely destroyed Cotto and that's why Cotto wouldnt have fought a prime Martinez.
Oh, if you expected Sergio to come up with excuses as of why he lost then you'll be waiting for a while.
Paul Williams would have ended this version of Martinez before round 5.
