Incredible how Cotto increased this sort of mass. Suddenly he's a cross between a jet and a tank. Every ounce of weight he gained seems to be pure, fast twitch fiber muscle. Remarkable. Truly amazing.

To make it even more historic only Walker, Robinson, Basilio and Griffith won the lineal midleweight champion making Cotto #5.
Just add lineal MW champ to the HOF resume.
Martinez a freakin HALL OF FAMER????
LOL
Where does it say anything about Sergio? This is not about Cotto like i said in my previous post. This is about the worth of the Lineal vs fighting a ATG or HOF fighter. But i see you couldn't answer the last part of my question.
Only 8 others (I read 13 at RING TV, not sure which it is.) have ever done it and they weren't all lineal at WW. It's not an easy task.
Of those 13 only 8 won it. The story was about those who fought for the belt.
Walker
Basilio
Robinson
Griffith
Duran
Hearns
De La Hoya
Trinidad
And now Miguel Cotto
Lineal belt or GTFO
Holding a winky dink trinket doesnt count as a championship in the history context that you are putting Cotto in.
Another fight Floyd fans arbitrarily benefit from.
LOL Easy work Gaiz
Lineal belt or GTFO

I get what your saying and i agree the Lineal title is a great accomplishment, but sometimes beating another HOF or ATG fighter is better than the Lineal.
Not talking about Cotto just speaking in general. You think Carlos Baldomir is a great win even if its for the Lineal than some of Floyds other opponents or opponents he could have faced?
Thanks to Martinez ducking Golovkin for so long you get results like this, someone who shouldn't be a MW, not only winning a title, but the lineal title. :lol1: Credit to Cotto though, all of that stuff is out of his control and he put on a great performance.
He looked the best I seen him in a very long time. Truly special night.
He made Sergio Martinez look like Carlos Quintana bro. Just a monster in there with excellent timing and skills. He was just making Sergio look silly in the ring and nobody does that to Martinez.
