US promoter Bob Arum, who handles Chavez Jr, has admitted WBA and IBF world super middleweight champion Froch's spectacular knockout of George Groves at Wembley caught America's attention:
Arum said: "Carl versus Julio would be big in Vegas and definitely a pay-per-view event on HBO television."
A Froch-Chavez bout would likely bring in more than $50 million (£29m) in pay-per-view revenue from America and Britain as well as the gate receipts at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Arum has already opened talks with American network HBO about a Froch-Chavez fight, with November an early projected date.
Chavez himself has given the green light, saying: "A fight with Froch would be huge. I am already looking forward to it happening."

September might be too early for Froch if he takes an extended break now. but any date after that just make the fight!
October and December seem to be the only other dates. They don't cross with Pac because that's bad for him. Also look out for possible clash of month with Canelo PPV
Supposedly he's been in shape since he thought he was getting Golovkin... but who knows with him. I remember one time he was looking like the Michelin tire man
Yea I have no faith in JCC Jr. on the matter, although I hope he has learned his lesson and is taking better care of himself during downtime.
Also if he has been staying in shape since then I can't see him not cutting loose after his next fight occurs.
Maybe but I don't think JCC would be down with that, he would literally have to be on the grind for 5 or 6 months with only a few weeks off from mid Sept.-mid Oct..
That ain't JCC's style IMO

I wonder if they're still trying to get him back in September then fight in December

why would they do something dumb like that? Its childish and they would lose so much money just trying to outdo one guy. You cant put all those stars on one card who all demand a good amount of money. Thats hard to do even with no other PPV on that night but you want them to go against the biggest star of them all just to show him who's boss? Meanwhile everyone on your side will be wondering why they have such lil money for such a mega event
He won't have GBP promoting him, it would be a good time to do it. Not easy to promote a huge event. However, I think Froch is the stumbling block, I highly doubt he'll be ready for September.
Arum and De La Hoya should really stick it to floyd and go head to head with pacquiao and canelo on the same card. With guys with huge followings on the undercard, marquez (if he dont fight pac), and woever from goldenboy thats notmhaymon.
Floyd wanna be all about himself, then other promoters should team up against haymon and floyd

Sigh...
No one said Chavez would outsell Floyd. We said he would hurt his numbers.
I didnt say that one time. I said that people said Arum would go head to head, alot of people would buy Chavez, it will hurt Floyd's numbers, and Floyd will either be forced to move his date or take a big bullet but now you see that Arum isnt stupid enough to go against Floyd because the fact is that it will hurt Arum & Chavez way more then it hurts Floyd because he's still going to outsell them.
Why cut your own nose off out of spite. He's not going to do that and never was. Arum could have the biggest of one of the biggest fights in boxing with Pac vs a star but he's not going to put him on Floyd's date because its going to hurt Arum just as much as it hurts Floyd and in most cases it will hurt Arum way worst

where are all the people who were talking smack about Arum taking off Floyd's head with Chavez-Froch taking his date in September? All of you saying you are going to buy that and its going to kill Floyd. Arum aint stupid. He's not going head to head. No matter what you guys think or wanna admit, Floyd's PPV will still outsell them. Sure he may make Floyd lose some numbers but at the end of the day he's just going to be hurting himself because Floyd will take so many PPV buys from his fight which will kill his own earnings. He's not stupid enough to do that like some fans on here think he is.
Those are the same fans saying Floyd has nowhere to go now without GBP but guess what, you will still be stuck again in September on Mexican Independance holiday watching a Floyd fight which will not be going head to head with Arum/Chavez and not promoted by GBP so we are seeing who's the biggest star in boxing and who is calling the shots.
At the end of the day, it doesnt matter. Im still going to be watching Floyd fights, Pac fights, Top Rank fights, and GB fights because I love boxing.
Sigh...

March Canelo-Angulo

October Chavez jr-Froch
November Pacquiao-
December Canelo/Golovkin-Cotto/Martinez
Turning into the UFC with all these PPVs.:boxing:
lol I forgot Arum crapped on the MGM recently.
I hope he doesn't think the Thomas & Mack center is going to be sufficient for Froch's epicness. It'll be cheaper for fans, but Carl's gonna wish he stayed home
