Just to add some clarity as to how the boxing landscape will shift, can someone compile a list of Golden Boy and Al Haymon exclusive fighters? Mayweather saying he won't work with Golden Boy, to me signals that Al Haymon will no longer work with Golden Boy as the two have always been in-step on everything. Haymon doesn't have a website so it's tough to figure out, for instance I just found out that Lara is signed with Haymon, not GBP.
Golden Boy:
Canelo
Leo Santa Cruz
Deontay Wilder
Abner Mares
Peter Quillin
Haymon:
Mayweather
Danny Swift
Broner
Khan
Stevenson
Lara
Gary Russell Jr.
Robert Guerrero
Carlos Molina
Lucas Matthysse
From what I gather, this might not mean much at all to end the Cold War, it just might bring over a few fighters like Canelo to the HBO side.
"Golden Boy has a written contract with Richard Schaefer that ends March, 2018." I also read he is large shareholder of Golden Boy. Which it is in his best interest $$$ for him if Golden Boy does well. And on another site GBP said that they expect Schafer to fulfill his obligations up to 2018 which may mean he will do that, or form his own company and deal with a GBP lawsuit which could be a harsh one based on a clear conflict of interest, even if Oscar was found to be a nut case during a certain period of time. Those fishnets might be rearing their ugly heads soon.
Don't need one, what Haymon is running is basically a "BOXING AGENCY" he can send his fighters to fight under any promotion especially the ones who are not "OFFICIALLY SIGNED" to GBP. Promotions are not as important as THEY THINK. Fans order fights for the Fighters and for Good Match Ups, not for the Promotion and to see Oscar sitting Ringside watching the fight.
Indeed... but this is exactly the issue with Haymon... he's standing firmly astride the legal firewall that divides promoters and managers. Where do his legal responsibilities lie? As things stand if the **** hits the fan, the fighters can't hold him responsible if they get screwed over - this is the major point of the Ali law - making sure that there is some party who can be held legally accountable for upholding a fighters interests. It appears however that Haymon can do what he wants - his contracts apparently give him unilateral control over a fighters career, but without the fiduciary responsibility that would come with a managerial role.
In short he might be able to get them good fights and good paydays, but if and (perhaps more significantly) when the coffers run dry there ain't a damn thing the fighters can legally do about it cos he's got no legal responsibility to make sure they're getting the best paydays he can get them.
and last but not least.......
WAS/IS there a no comp clause in Shafters contract? Do we know for sure?

i heard that in california they don't have those and gbp is based outta cali.
But he does not have a promotion company. He is an advisor just like a manager. He is not a promoter.

In the end, Shafter straight shafted GBP by letting Haymon take most of GB's fighters. In my opinion it was collusion, and as the former CEo of GB, Shafter should be sued! Unfortunately Haymon burned too many bridges at HBO so i dont see those fighters under him on HBO any time soon. I think Oscar, once he hires a new CEO will be fine and will get some new fighters under his stable. As for Haymons fighters, well 1st off, May Promotions is going to have to apply for a license to promote(GBP was doing all of that and then some) and 2ndly, they are going to have to put up some really good/competitive fights because for the money Haymon guarantees his fighters, Espinoza would be a f'n idiot NOT to demand anything less
Haymon:
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Adonis Stevenson
Amir Khan
Peter Quillin
Josesito Lopez
Erislandy Lara
Cristobal Arreola
Devon Alexander
Adrien Broner
Kyrone Davis
Andre Berto
Danny Garcia
Austin Trout
Lamont Peterson
Anthony Peterson
Seth Mitchell
Gary Russell Jr.
Antonio Tarver
Sakio Bika
Vernon Forrest
Lamon Brewster
Jermain Taylor
J'Leon Love
Omar Figueroa
Paul Williams
Leo Santa Cruz
John Molina, Jr.
Deontay Wilder
Lucas Matthysse
Chris Pearson
Errol Spence
Marcos Maidana
Julian Williams
Keith Thurman
Paulie Malignaggi
Robert Guerrero
Shawn Porter
Luis Collazo
Rances Barthelemy
Look at this list, Haymon would be just fine without GBP because he is also cool with Espinoza at Showtime so he will get Date and still get great paydays for his fighters.
Difficult situation though because not really sure who is actually SIGNED TO GBP or was just working on GBP Cards as a Partnership between Haymon and Schaefer.

if all those fighters refuse to join with oscar then we must boycott of all of their fights.
oscar is trying to save boxing, and if they join with al haymon and floyd then they are all contributing to a new cold war.
we need to join hands and say "No!".
HAHAHA good luck with that Boycott, you might as well just stop watching boxing all together.
They still Gbp fighters they still need someone to promote their fights. I doubt they gunna join TMT promotions and get floyd to promote their fights. Guerrero definitely hates floyd so that won't happen. Al haymon is the manager he doesn't promote fights. All I see happening is Schaefer helping floyd promote his fights. Haymon and Oscar never fell out. So I'd assume they'd still work together. They all still contracted under Gbp anyway. Just watch this **** will only backfire if haymon decides to stop working with Oscar if not then I see floyd sucking on oscars balls and saying sorry.
Haymon and Oscar barely have a relationship, apparently. And that makes sense.
everyone thought the cold war was over but it only got colder because gbp really only has a few fighters .......there are gonna be a lot of fighter on the shelf now because if the haymon fighters go schaefer they'll has too wait for them to get a boxing licenses, which take time.
If they don't have promotional contracts then GBP can offer them. A bidding war is far more likely than fighters being left on the shelf. Haymon can't just keep reaching into Espinoza's pockets to keep everyone happy.

Golden Boy only has: Canelo, Lara, Mares & Santa Cruz. Everyone else is gone. In California were Golden Boy is at......that state does not let Non Compete Clauses stand up in court. All of the fighters not listed are with haymon and have been promoted by a fight by fight basis with Golden Boy. All those fighters will now go with Haymon and Schaefer to a new company. Oscar and whats left of his guys will fight on HBO against top rank guys. Basically oscar has the same amount of big name guys as 50 Cent now.
Lara is a free agent now

GOAT post thanks man really good good insight regarding Al Haymon.
Thanks. This video actually brought up more questions tho
If Austin Trout is only signed with Haymon, than does he (Trout or Haymon) pay GBP for their services on a fight by fight basis like Floyd does? Or did Oscar not know and was promoting a fighter that wasn't even signed to GBP?
