It seemed to me that he was losing almost every round, got cut by a punch that they ruled a headbutt. The KD looked like it was more the result of feet tangling than anything. And when Donaire went down it looked to me like he got hit with a solid combo. I don't know the whole fight looked strange to me personally.
Everybody in the RBR thread including donaire fans said it was shady by the ref
The ref looked like he wanted a TD regardless since he could have stop the fight after the 1st.
I don't think they intended for Donaire to win hence the sense of urgency from Donaire to score some rounds.
I wonder if the ref or the officials had money on the fight.
Anyone have a gif of what likely caused the cut? When they showed the replay it wasn't clear. And if the ref didn't see what caused the cut, he's supposed to call it a punch.
There's 3 candidates and no matter how many replays they showed it was never clear. It was either a jab, a headbutt following the jab, or an elbow following the headbutt. It all happened quick and it's really hard to tell.
I don't remember the ref calling it when it happened, which is really shady. No one knew if it was going to the cards or a TKO.
Donaire whooped on him in the 3rd and 4th. The first was an either way kind of round. And that KD was very legit. The right hand had Vetyeka hurt and the left finished the job.
It was definitely corrupt as hell to stop the fight when they did. They waited for the 4th to be over so it would go to the scorecards, where Donaire would likely win after the KD. Either stop it earlier or don't stop it at all. And Pabon gave him a timeout to let the doctor wipe away blood, when the f*ck does that happen?

To an idiot like you, like fights will always seem fishy and look strange. Losing almost every round? It really looks fishy and strange!
Fishy?
I don't think you'll ever see something as corrupt as that. This is not aimed at Donaire, but his camp and of course Top Rank.
The referee - well, he was refereeing for a reason, because he's one of the dodgiest referees out there (I've seen him many times before and he always bends over for the house fighter/promoter).
This fight reminded me of farces seen previously in Germany (eg the Markus Beyer vs Danny Green fight, and a few others).
And to be honest, an 'immediate rematch' is not enough, the WBA itself should change it to a no contest and order a rematch.
Once again - this is not against Donaire personally.

That was my thought exactly. And if they say it was caused by a punch that's a TKO loss
I thought Donaire won the 4th but the first 3 I thought he lost. I wasn't alone in thinking he was definitely losing some rounds. The thing is, I was never interested in the fight in the first pace, so I don't even care for a rematch. It just seemed like they wanted to hand Donaire a title
I thought Donaire lost Rounds 1 & 2. He was up a point and QUIT knowing that he could steal the belt.
I like Donaire but this was just plain WEAK !!!:boxing::boxing::boxing:
That's the way I see it too. Kinda like Garcia looking for a way out against Salido.

stop watching fights on s.hitty streams bro...it makes you look like an idiot when you post your opinion in a boxing forum.

Lol at this :D
The KD was from a huge left. The cut was an elbow or clash of heads. The replay showed both happening right before he complained. No punch was landed. Ref was inept like the OP.
****ty officiating. Tough way for vetyeka to lose his title. A rematch is order as the fight was just getting interesting.
It wasn't fixed but to me, just watching it, it looked like they were dragging it out and dragging it out until Donaire could get to the 4th. Thought the cut was a punch myself as well.
It didn't looked fixed, but def looked like donaire wanted a way out.. The knock down gave him an edge on the scorecards, but def looked like he wanted out
