how about that australian heavyweight, shane something..I forget his name. wasn't he a champion rugby player and now a heavyweight champ?
anthony mundine ?
My bad, Paul Buentello more credible than Todd Duffee?
slightly.. but they are both more credible than nilson julio tapia. in case you are wondering who the hell that is its the guy golovkin beat for his MW title.
overeem held all but one HW title in mma, obviously the one he was missing was the most legitimate one. but golovkin isnt lineal champion in boxing himself. he won a vacant title against some guy nobody ever heard of.
im not trying to take credit away from golovkin, really. but if you are going to dismiss overeem as a world champion by the logic you are then you need to do the same to golovkin. his reign is no more legit than overeems, less if anything.
It would take more than six months of sprawl training to defend against world class wrestlers (give it two to five years) these guys been training ever since kids in wrestling/jujutsu and six months is nothing, that's like saying six months of training to slip punches you can slip ALL of mayweathers punches even though he been doing this his whole life.
Also he would have to learn to defend against kicks (he could defend against kicks with a simple step back or side step so he wouldn't have to block or let the kick touch him) though he would have to drill this anyway and doing this type of training would be stupid. He would have to train to defend against kicks and wrestling which would take him two to five years and mma doesn't pay no where near the amount of money boxers make unless your Anderson silva or penn or lesnar.
We all know the eastern europeans dominate freestyle wrestling. Given Golovkin's balance and strength no doubt he could become a mma champion.
MMA fighters don't know how to punch. They also cant take a punch. This is a sport that Brock Lesnar was a champion in.
6 months sprawl training and GGG is a mma champion.
video below shows what a gifted athlete GGG is. Take down skills are great for a boxer.
What in the f*cks name is that? One of Wladimir Klitschko's sparring partners or something?

Do you mean Sonny Bill Williams? He's from New Zealand.
Brock was an accomplished wrestler in high school and college, on top of that he was a freakish athlete at a ripped 265lbs. His wrestling and ground and pound made him succesfull. A boxer only has his fists, they would never be able to do the same.
These are guys who have been grappling since a very young age, their muscle memory in their bodies are a result of thousands of hours of training over years. No one dimensional fist fighter can suddenly catch up within what was is it that you said, 6 months? LOL you idiot.
GGG has been grappling since very young. Learn to read and comprehend threads before ruining them with your MMA butthurt.
But go on, Explain to me how Reem is a legit MMA champion after beating Todd Duffee for a belt and Paul Buentello for a belt.
Duffee and Buentello couldn't become champion when a WWE star dominated the sport.
Wake me up when Undertaker or Kane beat a HW boxer for a belt like Brock did to Randy Couture.

At the time. I will tell you now though, no boxer would be able to beat either Buentello or Duffee in an MMA match.
This whole thread is completely redicilous especially your posts.

On the topic of hard punching boxers fighting in MMA, imagine the damage that Kovalev could do punching with 4 oz gloves. :scared:
If boxers went to mma there would be deaths every week with those 4 oz gloves.
Lol that was funny.
When was this filmed
Sometime up at big bear. I'm sure his grappling is even better now that bjj world champ is in his camp full time.
