He's clearly not happy with the level of opposition he's been matched up with so far.
'I'm not a prize fighter, I'm a pride fighter'...what a guy.

there's an interesting Thurman interview from a few months back I just stumbled across. talks about how his opponents are selected, Maidana etc.
You can be both. Some guys are good fighters but their hype exceeds their skill. Canelo is the perfect example, the boy can fight but anyone who knew anything about boxing knew that Floyd was going to box his ears off, yet the media and casual fans made it like he was going to beat him. Donaire also comes to mind, hes a good fighter but he got a ton of hype by knocking out undersized and old fighters. He was never a top 3 p4p guy like some rated him, but that doesn't make him a bad fighter
We still don't know if Canelo's any good to be honest, just that he's better than Angulo beyond the LMW weight limit. He really needs to assert himself in the Lara bout, another loss would relegate his status significantly.
It's funny, Thurman wants the Canelo fight and I couldn't say he wouldn't beat him. I take your point though, just felt that poster was flip-flopping.
So is he a hypejob or is he good? Chino wouldn't ruin him, because Thurman can throw bombs while moving around on the backfoot. Chino is soft to the body too and you saw how Thurman's last fight ended.

Do you at least agree with me on this...
Maidana-Thurman would end one of two ways, which ever occurs first...
Maidana by KO. (60% probability)
Or Thurman by body shot KO. (40% probability)
I feel it's 60-40 Thurman, he's more likely to land the shot imo, he's still got his legs. I actually think he took bigger shots from Chaves (who broke his nose) than he would from Maidana.
If you think Thurman outboxes Chino cleanly, you're smoking some good sh*t, homeboy. The best boxer on the planet couldn't box him cleanly, yet you think a hypejob will? Thurman is good but I'm being realistic. Chino would ruin him.
You do know Maidana ducked Thurman a while back right? Not sure if it was a
"business decision" or something else but Maidana backed out of their fight.
I'm a fan of both and consider it an even fight, if anything the edge might go to Thuman because he's the bigger man.
Thurman deserves a shot now! .... All these guys looking for big payday's and claiming that he's not on their level need a reality check.
Only one dude in the WW division can make claims that someone's not ready to be in the ring with them based on experience and stature. All the rest need to get real and mix it up to weed out the pretenders and hype-jobs.
GBP need to stop pampering certain fighters, feeding them one stiff after another because their game is suspect. If they can't hang with the big-dogs, they can't hang.
Force these guys to fight each other!!!!
No more of this "Do you want to fight Thurman crap".
Maidana beat Ortiz when Ortiz was like Thurman is currently. And also Broner. He's 2-0 against hypejobs.
I like Thurman but he's still unproven. He's knocking out guys he's suppose to. Chino is experienced, has defense (Mayweather and Broner were missing a lot), high volume, big power, heart, and the ability to overcome adversity every time he is faced with adversity.
So far, Thurman's power has bailed him out every time he's about to face adversity.
You're either a wind up merchant or clearly don't know what you're talking about.
Have you not seen Thurman's fight against Chaves? His boxing ability proved to be the difference against a very dangerous and underrated opponent.

Alexander outboxed Maidana clean, is he a better boxer than Floyd?
Maidana can't afford to be as wild as he usually is against somebody like Thurman, so he'll be a lot more cautious than he usually is (if he's not, he gets put to sleep).
Personally I think Maidana would beat Thurman's ass. Thurman can't pay Chino an extra US$ 900,000.00 to wear pillows.
Can't see it. Thurman is better in every department. I think he boxes Maidana's ears off early, works the body and stops him late.
GBP have tried to match him up with Porter, Maidana, Guerrero, Pauli etc, they've all turned it down.
I hope we get to see Thurman vs Porter after Porter beats the crap out of Brook. I'd like to see him fight Maidana as well if he doesn't get that Floyd rematch...he might be willing to fight Thurman now.
Doubt it, he'll want Broner. No one's going to want to fight Thurman except maybe Collazo whose name is low-value right now.

Don't diss thurman for "lack of opponents " diss his promoters this guy is foaming from the mouth to step in to a ring with a big name and we he does,,,,,,I feel sorry for whoever he get in with
true, hes with a hot stable yet they dont want to match him with any1

Thurman is Floyd's mandatory for the WBA title now, if Floyd vacates, Thurman has got to get a shot at the vacant title.
Once he gets his hands on that title, he's not letting go for a while.
dammm your sig
maidana was rocking the sht outta floyd, dam
prolly landed more punches nd power in that combo than floyd did with the accumulation of his potshots in a round. sht looks wild, floyds chin & body is great shape to take that damage
anyway, love the enthusiasm in thurmans voice. hope he gets a big shot soon nd shakes up the boxing world. alotta posters saying he over rated but i like his skillset nd think hes rated just fairly
A lot of people dislike him because they know he's coming for their favourite fighters ;)
Thurman believing the BS that Floyd chose to fight that way :lol1:
