Schaefer is probably waiting for Oscar's disappearance again before making Broner's next fight or any huge fight involving their "stars". Otherwise, it's hard to loot the company when the boss is around. ;-) Schaefer wants Herrera vs Molina next. He can always recycle Judah and Malignaggi.
Oscar needs to make a big move.
That seems to be the case. Schaefer is not working for GBP. He's working for Schaefer and Haymon, and hopes that Hoya disappears. Fact that Schaefer is more interested in making Molina vs Herrera is very telling.
It is not just a promotional houses dug into their trenches. They are only the initial cause of the problem. We also have the Networks dug in, and they don't have a reason to reverse their stances.
Take a look at the recent GGG vs Quillin talks. GGG's people sent in an offer to Golden Boy, but golden boy countered with a bidding process to see where the fight gets aired. I guarantee you HBO and Showtime will balk at such a thing. They will both stick to their ground. We are unfortunately stuck with fighters who are destined to not only promotional barriers, but also glued to network branding.
To me this is currently the bigger issue. You hit the nail on the head.
What Haymon and Richard have done to odlh is worse than anything arums ever done to him.
exactly. being the ceo of a company and actively working against it is one of the slimiest things you can do. guess we shouldn't expect less from a swiss banker and a stalker/tranny fan
But see, this is an incorrect myth.
Broner and Maidana are both signed with Al-Haymon and they fought each other. Collazo and Khan are also both signed to Haymon, and they fought each other. Molina and Matthysse, both with Haymon. Lara and Canelo are both with Golden Boy and they ARE fighting each other soon. You guys like to follow your imaginations rather than reality.
But, but... would you not have preferred Broner vs Matthysse? Or Khan vs Broner? Give me your best logic.
Who cares about the cold war? GBP is overstacked with recognizable names in its roster. But they are rarely pitted against each other. When they do fight, the loser is back fighting a nobody. You'd think that Broner vs Matthysse would have happened, look at who they fought in their last fights.
Provo loses he's back fighting a champ. Alvarado loses, he's back fighting a veteran...
So what's the point of ending the cold war when GBP fighters don't even fight each other?

Broner's next fight alone with any of the these guys like Matthysse, Garcia, Porter, Alexander, Guerrero, Thurman, Peterson, Berto... would be a huge attraction. Schaefer used to announce possible high profile matchups in advanced. This is very strange. Either GBP is broke or he's saving them for his venture with Haymon and without Hoya in the picture.

Arum, with Oscar's collaboration, should be making offers to GBP fighters, instead of just talking. Offers that are too attractive to pass up. These dormant fighters GBP have will find a way to break up with the clown duo Schaefer and Haymon. Bradley with any of the GBP fighters mentioned would also be huge attraction.
It's Schaefer , al haymon and Hopkins continuing the cold war
Exactly. GBP is stacked with recognizable names already built up by HBO, and they don't even need TR at this point. But these recognizable names don't fight each other. Hoya seems hopeless.
Are you on haymons payroll? You go on a rant about ODLH mending his business relationship with arum but you encourage Oscar to make up with haymon who is stealing his fighters with the help of Schaefer?
How is haymon stealing his fighters? Lol you guys don't have a single clue into what's going on inside gbp

The cold war that needs to get fixed is between Hoya and Schaefer/Haymon. GBP got lots of fighters with recognizable names, yet why are they not fighting each other? Either they are broke or Schaefer is intentionally holding back negotiating high profile fights because Hoya is around looking over his shoulders. Latest news is Schaefer is interested in making Molina vs Herrera. How about making these guys fight each other: Berto, Garcia, Alexander, Porter, Thurman, Lopez, Maidana, Matthysse, Guerrero...

good post i missed the bidding process thingy is there a source or a post i can read more about it?

I havent seen proof of this. Who says GBP fighters in general dont fight each other?? Broner was just getting to 140 after losing a fight and they are trying to build him up again. There is nothing wrong with that. give the dude some time to work on his boxing again and bounce back.
Some fighters are high risk low reward and peeps try to avoid them as long as possible thats true, im thinking of PROVO at HBO and Thurman at showtime.

Here's a question, which makes me pause at Arum's sincerity\motives ....
Why is ODLH doing all the footwork, while Arum is sitting at home, acting like the Godfather?
IMHO: Arum, is as untrustworthy as a promoter can get and he always has his best interest in the forefront. ODLH better be very careful when dealing with that snake. At the same time, ODLH better nail down where he stands with Haymon -- Who incidentally is at serious odds with Arum.
Its going to take a collective effort to patch up the mess that is boxing. ODLH & Arum doing the dance with each other, may not be enough.
What Haymon and Richard have done to odlh is worse than anything arums ever done to him.
There you go.... Dealing with haymon is GBP mistake in the first place. Have you heard of cutting losses... Haymon will need to define his role soon enough by law if GBP stops promoting haymons fighters.
Look at the names associated with Haymon .... GBP will need to start pretty much from scratch, because all their money-makers are siding with Haymon and are contracted to Haymon. Adding insult to injury, any future GBP prospects will want to join up with Haymon as well, because his guys are getting paid.
So, let's say GBP (ODLH) severs ties to Haymon (cutting off the nose to spite the face), Shaeffer\Haymon go for it and form their own Promotional entity -- Now what, the war has added another party which is more powerful than the others (GBP & TR) combined.
This is a freakin mess!!! That's why I stated that ODLH, better be very careful how he proceeds and how he handles his so-called reconciliation with Arum. Because Arum hates Haymon, and likewise Haymon doesn't care if Arum lives or dies.
