The more I think about it, the more impressed I am with the adjustment's Floyd made by the final moments of RD 2 of his fight with Mosley.
We all remember how Shane drilled Floyd at least twice at full power and we all remember Floyd's legs turning to jelly and him reaching out to clutch. Anyway...
How many welters in today's crop could've made the winning adjustment Floyd did and survive those specific shots from that specific fight? Canelo? Maidana? Broner? Zab? Manny? Marquez? Bradley? Khan?
Anyone think a few of these guys would've kissed the canvas from those shots?

kissing the canvas? Most of those guys would have been out cold. That shot he hit him with was probably much stronger (since Shane is a much harder puncher and put just as much into it) than the punch JMM KTFO Pacman with so Pac definitely would have been sleeping
Hi, you must ben new to boxing. We score on a 10 point must system with the winner being awarded 10 and the loser 9 or less. And if you knock the apponents down for about 10 seconds you win by a stoppage called a ko. If you have any more questions feel free to ask
Right but in this case the said fighter didn't even go down at all.
Mosley hurts Floyd badly, twice in the same round.
Floyd Fans: "No, he was just hurt, not nearly KO'd"
Floyd hurts Cotto in a much lesser fashion in RD12 of their fight.
Floyd Fans: "Floyd almost stopped Cotto LOL"
Lol. Now go find where I posted Floyd almost stopped cotto. I'll wait. If u can't find it, don't quote me with this stupidity.
Floyd did recover well but what if it was the younger mosely who could throw combos all night without getting tired. he wouldn't have let Floyd off the hook. Floyd is obviously exceptionally talented but there are guys who could have beaten him and I think a younger mosely is one of them
Only one problem. If its a younger Mosley, its also a younger FLOYD. Mosley would have thrown more and had more power. But Floyd would too. Once he adjust, Shane would be predictable with all that speed and power. Nonetheless it would have been a great fight.
The last time I seen two prme fighters with speed and power and reflexes fighting eachother, it was one of those Charlo brothers fighting Hopkin's relative. Both were elusive, fast, sharp, and could barely land on eachother.
We will never have a fight with two really good fighters who have the athleticism, and going at eachother.
Name ONE FIGHTER in history that got hurt that bad, then walked their man without being hisse by a single shot. You have to back up this lie.

"near KO" :lol1:
You crazy as hell you said Pernell whitaker was better than Floyd? And Duran? I thought I saw a sig with your quote saying that mess. Pernell was a flashy, "bob n weave, showboat for the camera" defensive wizard. Floyd dont do that bs. He is all business no showboaty bob and weave crap.
You think Duran and Pernell can change their fighting style completely and dominate Floyd's foes without being hissed by a single shot? Note, I didnt ask whether they could beat Floyd's foes. I asked if they ha the skillset to do what Floyd did to them. In fact name one fighter in history who did...
Ummmm...........a whole lot of fighters in the past and probably many more in the future?

Shane's "Near KO of Floyd in RD2" is more due to hard work and experience. That is what he wanted to do with that move. Its the only time Floyd is most vulnerable and Shane waited for it and threw his best shot.
It was very planned and very well executed.

im pretty sure thats not what he meant
I saw the fight like 30 times and that shot wasnt that big of a deal lol if it wasnt Mayweather getting hit with it then we wouldnt even be talking bout it
Near ko?? No. near knockdown maybe.

Since when is rocking someone for about 10 seconds almost stopping them?

How the hell can you call something a near KO when the fighter in question never went down and was never out on his feet? Mosley landed two punches that stunned Mayweather. That was all he landed the entire fight. Floyd won the second half of the round. There was no near KO.
Floyd got hit with two Flush punches I think would had knocked out every except JMM. Mayweather chin and defense is the best in boxing that's why he was able to withstand that and Mayweather willed his legs after that second shot.. Mosley hit Mayweather with a flush counter to the back of the head and May didn't see it.. No way any other fighter survive that. Mayweather tired Mosley out by tangling his arms an throwing harp uppercuts t the stomach no give credit for that.. No other fighter will had been able to be in that situation and correctly deduce what needed to be done.
Them fighters you listed been knocked out and that was knock out blow..really..no other fighter right now could take that. I could list tons, cotto, pacqiuao, lucas, marquez, bradley, ruslan, rios, alvarado, danny garcia, maidana, ect.. Those shots werent that amazing, they could hurt a lot of fighters but a lot of fighters can recover from it as well. Now if you are talking about that famous uppercut that vitali took then you would have an argument, but those were just three clean shots, nice punches, but they should have been followed up. Floyd is not the only one in history to recover from being hurt lol
I am not a Floyd fan.
I too like everyone else would love to see him and Manny finally get it on.
But lets be real here. That 2nd round is by far the biggest exaggeration of a guy getting hit clean I have ever seen.
If you look at the footage 20 seconds after Floyd got hit, he's walking forward to Mosley. By the end of the round you could see that Floyd has taken control of the fight again.
People like Dan Rafael were going nuts, saying it was a 10-8 round for Mosley which is completely nuts.
It was a good hit, caught him clean, hurt him a bit, but it wasn't close to a knock out.
floyd's "adjustment" was more to do with shane being 40 yrs old. Had shane been 3-4 yrs younger (when floyd was ducking him), floyd would not have seen the 3rd round that night.
How does it feel to go through life in complete ignorance? Pretty good I'd imagine.
