WITH the knock-down I had him comfortably up by 3 points (2 rounds.)
The facts about the fight: Trout was wild as all holy hell, this his aggression wasn't always effective he only
He only Outlanded Canelo by 40 punches (most of them not power punches, just "jabs.")
He threw 400 MORE punches than Canelo and only landed a quarter of his total punches.
He was honesty getting tagged at will by Canelo's hard shots (hence him being out on his ass.)
Canelo landed something like 45% of his punches (most of them power punches.)
Trout: was trying to steal the fight by pulling a Maidana and just swinging at everything and anything, thus getting caught with the cleaner shots and losing a round outright by getting dropped. He expected his work rate to pull out the victory.
Imo, anyone crying robbery is most likely a Canelo hater, lord knows this board is infested with those.
I can see at the very least crying for a draw and that's being VERY generous to Trout.
Imo it was a clear win for Canelo, can't see how the robbery army always does into force here.
Had it a draw.
Those scorecards were ridiculous. Didn't one judge have it 8-0 when they announced the open scoring after 8th round lol.
80-71, 78-73 and 76-75
I had it the same as the third guy at the same point.
I had ginger winning 2 rounds and that's because of the 1 knockdown in round 7 trout outworked him the entire fight 2-3 punches a round should not win you a fight
I haven't seen the fight in awhile; open scoring ruined that fight.
I think I had Canelo up by 2 rounds. It was a close fight and Canelos stamina issues were on full display that night.
Close competitive fight. Had the fight 114-113 Trout.
But Canelo looked like the winner based on the body language, knockdown and of course the open scoring which is the dumbest thing ever.

7-5 Canelo with one extra point for the KD. Canelo 115-112.
I backed Trout in this fight but I remember it being a pretty clear cut victory for Alvarez. Maybe open scoring effected my scoring somehow. I was backing Trout but I remember I had Alvarez winning clearly but sometimes I score fights on how I think the judges would score it. Now I have to rewatch it lol.
I remember feeling like it was closer than Canelo should have wanted it and being disappointed at his failure/inability to intensify his attack and get inside on Trout and get him out of there or try and put him down a few more times. That was unfair of me of course. Poor Canelo can't be blamed for who he is. He's doing the best he can lol.
I had it close for Canelo. 7-5, 6-6 with the knockdown being the deciding factor. Open scoring ruined the fight. It took the suspense out of the last few rounds. If they're going to do open scoring then they should announce scores after each round so a fighter can at least adjust according to the score if need be. Announcing it after every 4 rounds, a fighter can think he's winning those rounds to only find out he lost them and by then its a bit too late to adjust.
I remember having Trout up by a point or two. It's one of those fights that could've gone either way, depending on what your judging criteria focused on. It came down to volume punches or effective punches. A lot of the rounds were very close except for when the knocked him down in the 7th.
I thought it was a close fight. Haven't really rewatched it but remember I thought the scoring was ridiculous.
It was open scoring as well if I remember correctly. Something like a 7-5 Canelo or even a draw was my scoring I think.
I think it was a 7-5 fight either way. More a case for 7-5 Alvarez than 7-5 Trout. The fight was ruined by the open scoring. We knew the outcome was corrupt no matter what happened in the ring. I don't think we learned who the better man was that night.
