I know this fight is almost a week past and im not sure if there was another thread about it.
But the guy looked like garbage. He looked out of shape, no game plan, no strategy, he was AWFUL. In other fights he has looked good and was a good boxer but he looked like a damn zombie in that ring.
What do you guys think? Was he just happy for a payday, got lazy and just showed up to make some cash?
collazo is an alcoholic for 2 years. virgil said it
lmao
can u remember word for word what Virgil said in the corner? because i remember bursting out laughing
something about hanging around with drunks for 3 years
He hurt his pinky. Diddums.
I said before the fight that Khan has the potential to look great in this one and that's what happened. Collazo was never a big puncher and neither was Devon Alexander who he was originally supposed to fight yet most people on here act like Khan will get KO'd by anyone not named Malignaggi.
He didn't look out of shape, Collazo is usually a counter puncher. Khan is troubled by guys who press him constantly to get on the inside.
Collazo doesn't have that style. Khan also some of the fastest hands in boxing, something you cant account for in sparring.
Well what had happened was:
1.) he won a fantasy (troll) fight on NSB over Khan by KO.
2.) there was a fantasy (troll) list of dance variations that Khan was going to do.
3.) May 3rd came...
4.) Collazo get his ass handed to him. Literally, he walked back to the locker room holding his ass with both hands.
5.) people SUDDENLY remembered it's not 2005 anymore
6.) Collazo is a shot C-level fighter, and at his best he was a HIGH C-level fighter.
So, yeah, we call that the six step program.
Pretty much he got TROLLED into the welterweight elites out of hate for Khan.
Khan fought a really good fight and Collazo couldn't do much about it which was always a risk.if Khan fights properly, doing the little things it takes to win he is tough to beat but he has a lot of lapses, against Collazo those lapses didn't appear and Collazo could not force any.
Seriously? You're going to mention his victory over an 87 year old Marco Antonio Barrera with an 8 inch gash on his head down to the skull that poured blood into his eyes nearly the entire fight?
Point is Khan has done this to many fighters before, no one has ever outboxed Khan so if you're not a massive power puncher then you have virtually no chance of winning. And if you're a power puncher then Khan can still outbox, drop you and beat you (see Maidana).
Collazo couldn't outbox Khan, he realized that at some point in the fight so he put his hands down trying to lure him in and take him out his game plan as someone mentioned before. It didn't work.
He is garbage but Ortiz was worse garbage. That's why they feed him to Khan instead of putting Khan in with someone really good. That's why Khan talked about Collazo like he was a monster so when he beat him up he could claim some great victory.
I believe he injured a pinky finger. Apparently he was injured against Hernandez and broke his hand against Mosley too. Becoming a bit of a pattern...
Yea, so I think that's why he stopped holding his hands up. I think it was hurting to bad when Khan was hitting him while he had his guard up. I'm trying to find the pick, he had a soft cast on.
Does anyone look at the post fight stuff??? He broke his hand. Although Khans game plan was perfect, so I think Khan would have schooled him anyone.

Reality is Collazo wasn't in his prime but still a good fighter decent showing with khan but simply out gunned, was frusterated and couldn't handle the speed
2 extreme sides of opinions on this forum who are outright benders
Khan Haters: Collazo totally lost it and is a bum, though Khan 'looked' good in reality he is totally whack
Khan Lovers: Collazo was a cold blooded killer. Khan demolished him no buts.
He got his ass kicked by Khan, plain and simply.
Khan outclassed him in every way possible so he started to try to drop his hands and goad Khan into getting out of his gameplan but for once, Amir stayed disciplined.
Not hard to see what happened.

i think most of us thought khan was gonna get KTFO 'cause khan is khan, you can't change that chin, and that's what makes his fights so interesting, at any point given the dude might get nailed and start dancing across the ring. khan fought smartly to protect that chin (he did a very good job impersonating wlad for the whole 12 rounds) and got away with the W.
He almost did go dancing in one of the later rounds doe.
He trains with Ward so more like he impersonated Ward.

Collazo is way past it
beating Ortiz hardly revitalized him as a real contender
definitely thought he'd do better than he did vs Khan though
looked like he tried but just didn't have it
after the close Hatton loss, thought he'd be a force
he shoulda beat Berto yrs ago, but he floundered after that
he might stick around as a journeyman, but that's all he can do now
