Better performance against Maidana?old bloated shot Erik Morales or Floyd Mayweather?

I'm still amazed by how good Erik Morales looked compared to Floyd, and Morales was shot and washed up by this point he was bloated too fighting way above his division, yet he gave Maidana a boxing lesson look at how Maidana can barely hit Morales on the ropes. I'm not amazed. Morales is the best fighter of his era.

I loved watching Morales in that fight. He was over the hill, past it, not given a chance..yet he put in a great performance. An even better performance considering the state of his eye. Morales is underated, he could have made a lot of his early fights easier than they had to be but his machismo got the better of him like the Injin Chi fight he went toe to toe with that tough korean when he could have easily boxed him up.

This is the thing. I dont think Floyd has the legs anymore to box circles around his opponents for 12 rounds. Are you telling me that Mr Self Preservation chooses to play the ropes and take punishment like he did against Cotto and Maidana? As to the thread topic....Morales looked better losing against Maidana than Floyd did winning given the circumstances. Morales was on his last legs and shot to shiet. Well Floyd ran in the rematch so there goes the theory he didn't have legs lol. watch the entire last round , Floyd was coasting and they call that boxing just running away till the bell rings. Morales with one eye shut was schooling Maidana. Morales is legit tough and he would never lay down or refuse an engagement with anybody. That said, of course Floyd is the superior technician and as such, he will always be better skilled at protecting a lead. But from a fan's perspective, it don't mean that Floyd's fighting style is as edible (or satisfying) as Morales, who always came for WAR. Bless you Erik!

Morales was a huge underdog and was expected to be brutally ko'd in under 6 Floyd was a 12-1 favorite, and expected to box circles around Maidana Both were good competitive fights, but Floyd didn't live up to the expectations, and morales surpassed them, so I will give the nod to morales

Mayweather won 7-8 rounds. Morales won 4-5. Morales was very impressive given the stage he was in his career, having been in more wars than Napoleon, but not grading it on a curve, Floyd's was better as he fairly won.
