Khan: Maybe My Religious Beliefs Gives Mayweather an Excuse Not to Fight Me

Khan is the one guy in the whole universe nobody would ever realistically accuse Mayweather of ducking. lol

Ok so he just beat a gatekeeper at welterweight. Why isn't he looking to establish himself with a solid 147 fighter first and aim for Floyd in May? This guy needs to focus on his career and let his boxing do the talking. The rest will come.

But that would mean that Khan is willing again, to sit on the shelf to wait for the Porter\Brook winner, which I don't think is a good thing. Especially when a very credible opponent (Thurman) is available. Khan should stay active!! The Brook-Porter fight is planned for July, so that should give plenty of time until November, when Khan's next fight will be. There's also the possibility that Brook might not have the confidence to fight Porter, in which case Khan could just go straight for Porter himself. If either of those options fall through, then Thurman might be a possibility.

Why Thurman? He doesn't even have a belt. It would be pretty dumb to go for Thurman when there's hardly anything to gain from it. It's Porter who holds a Championship belt, so that that's the guy who Khan should be chasing, not Thurman. Like many have already said, the smartest decision for Khan would be to face the winner of Brook vs Porter. But that would mean that Khan is willing again, to sit on the shelf to wait for the Porter\Brook winner, which I don't think is a good thing. Listen, Collazo wasn't some dragon slayer, he was trying to get back into boxing full-time. He used to be pretty good, but now he's just a shadow of his former self. IMHO, and as I stated, Khan deserves credit for the win. But I'm not going so far as to rate Khan as something he is not, or hasn't earned. There are several young WW out there that have been actively looking for some competition, and are more than willing to fight Khan. But Khan won't go near them, since he's searching only for opponents that he can look good against. The Collazo's, the Guerrero's etc.... As I recall, Thurman called him out and stated, that he would spark him -- Khan gave no response at all. Thurman doesn't have an opponent between now and Sept. and neither does Khan ....... It wouldn't surprise me if Floyd offered Khan a fight in Sept knowing Khan cannot prepare for the fight properly becuz of his religion. Then Floyd will say he offered Khan a fight, but Khan turned it down.

To be fari Kahn won Saturday but it was against limited opposition and myself, I thought the reffing was god awful. He would have won anyway but i wonder if he would have looked as good. I would love to see Kahn fight someone more noteworthy in December than maybe floyd in May. Kahn has a good chance against ROBERT GUERRERO and that is good exposure. Is September actually needed? Why not December? Why? Floyd has had the date reserved for a year. He uses the date to maximize pay per views. If Kahn wants it win again in convincing fashion and target May 2015.

As far as Khan not fighting during or shortly after the month of day time fasting that is just BS. Khan has already had lots of fights during or shortly after this fasting period so it doesn't ring true. Mayweather is not avoiding him. Khan just hasn't done a damn thing in years to deserve a Mayweather fight over other winning fighters. Collazo was a mediocre fighter who was unranked by most organizations that rank boxers. Mayweather is big enough now that you should have to be a world champion to fight him. The last 4 guys that fought him were all world champions so why in hell shouldn't Khan have to be a world champion to get a fight with the best fighter and the highest paying fight? Khan may be this boy wonder in the UK but he has mostly been a glass jawed loser lately and one decent performance against an average fighter shouldn't get him the big fight.
