Ok so he just beat a gatekeeper at welterweight.
Why isn't he looking to establish himself with a solid 147 fighter first and aim for Floyd in May? This guy needs to focus on his career and let his boxing do the talking. The rest will come.
But that would mean that Khan is willing again, to sit on the shelf to wait for the Porter\Brook winner, which I don't think is a good thing. Especially when a very credible opponent (Thurman) is available.
Khan should stay active!!
The Brook-Porter fight is planned for July, so that should give plenty of time until November, when Khan's next fight will be. There's also the possibility that Brook might not have the confidence to fight Porter, in which case Khan could just go straight for Porter himself. If either of those options fall through, then Thurman might be a possibility.
Why Thurman? He doesn't even have a belt. It would be pretty dumb to go for Thurman when there's hardly anything to gain from it. It's Porter who holds a Championship belt, so that that's the guy who Khan should be chasing, not Thurman. Like many have already said, the smartest decision for Khan would be to face the winner of Brook vs Porter.

Listen, Collazo wasn't some dragon slayer, he was trying to get back into boxing full-time. He used to be pretty good, but now he's just a shadow of his former self.
IMHO, and as I stated, Khan deserves credit for the win. But I'm not going so far as to rate Khan as something he is not, or hasn't earned.
There are several young WW out there that have been actively looking for some competition, and are more than willing to fight Khan. But Khan won't go near them, since he's searching only for opponents that he can look good against. The Collazo's, the Guerrero's etc....
As I recall, Thurman called him out and stated, that he would spark him -- Khan gave no response at all. Thurman doesn't have an opponent between now and Sept. and neither does Khan ....... Is Khan willing to fight some real competition or is he only looking for the worn-out, retiring, or just looking for that paycheck kind of opponent.

agreed, Collazo was a decent win for Khan, but Collazo hasn't been in with a real killer since the close lose to Andre Berto. **had Khan beaten someone in the top 10 at Welterweight, it would be an entirely different story
So, that is now somehow Khan's fault Collazo was fighting like an "idiot"? How do you know he didn't come to win when this fight meant a whole a lot to his career than Khan's?
Khan made him look ordinary and he was so frustrated he resorted to punching him in the balls. The same people that predicted Khan to get KTFO are now down playing Collazo as a washed up bum or if he was paid off. Always an excuse.

I don't call that a solid win ...Collazo fought like a moron walking around with his hands down at his sides, following Khan with the biggest of invitations -- Please Punch the Fuck out of me!!!!
It was :lame:
Still, I'll give credit where its due, Khan whipped on that azz, but who wouldn't have been able to kick Collazo's azz when he's giving it up.
It wasn't competitive at all, because Khan didn't have an opponent that was willing to go all out for the win.
Collazo was just thrilled to be there ..... :blackeye:
Really now? This is the guy almost half the board was hyping up to be the next big thing, claiming he'd knock Khan out cold. But now that Khan beat him so convincingly, those same hypocrites are trashing Collazo... Wow, just wow.
Collazo is still a dangerous fighter, and was fighting smarter than haters give him credit for. It was a psychological mind-game, with Collazo trying to lure Khan into a brawl, expecting Khan to revert back to his old careless style, but Khan didn't take any of it and continued sticking to Virgil Hunter's game plan. If Khan fell for Collazo's trap, then it could have been the KO all the racist haters on this board wanted... But because Khan didn't fall for the trap, those same racist hypocrites are now calling Collazo a "moron" for trying to get that KO.

Is Mayweather avoiding Khan? Plus Mayweather already has set dates for his fights. What do you think?
On to the OP question.
Khan is an idiot if he's stating now that Floyd won't fight him because he can't fight in Sept.
DUH!!!!!!!! Floyd is contracted to fight twice a year and May & Sept. have been the dates specified for almost two years.
Now Khan want to say he can't fight in Sept. and Floyds avoiding him!!!!!
ARE YOU FUCKIN KIDDING WITH THIS BS?!?!
khan is feeling himself, finally a solid win in years

It wouldn't surprise me if Floyd offered Khan a fight in Sept knowing Khan cannot prepare for the fight properly becuz of his religion. Then Floyd will say he offered Khan a fight, but Khan turned it down.
but does it maximise sales if mexicans aint really involved?
Honestly I don't really now. I think we can all agree that there is no way Floyd is going to back down from his plans and appear to accomodate anyone. That isn't Floyd's way.
To be fari Kahn won Saturday but it was against limited opposition and myself, I thought the reffing was god awful. He would have won anyway but i wonder if he would have looked as good.
I would love to see Kahn fight someone more noteworthy in December than maybe floyd in May. Kahn has a good chance against ROBERT GUERRERO and that is good exposure. Personally I think if he fights Porter or Thurman the risks are too great for him before the Floyd fight.
So the race card isn't enough, Khan went ahead and pulled the religion card? Man this Amir Khan is getting really pathetic
Khan now has the same adviser as Floyd, why doesn't Haymon tell Khan to STUFU and save some face
So he thinks he is so important Floyd should change his fight date he set almost a year ago...a fight date he fights on every year??? this guy has lost his damn mind
bold - yeah apparently so. Khan went on the record as stating that he CAN fight in November
.... the dude should save some face and STUFU already. All Khan needs is a top 10 win, and Mayweather will have to face him
**I said this in another thread, but from all the yapping Khan has been doing, it would make you think that he's the one who's 37 years old and only has 2-3 paydays left
Khan is downright fixated on a Mayweather fight, it's frikin pathetic .. why doesn't he worry about his own career, get another big win or two, and the Mayweather fight will fall right into his lap
Is September actually needed? Why not December?
Why? Floyd has had the date reserved for a year. He uses the date to maximize pay per views. If Kahn wants it win again in convincing fashion and target May 2015.
As far as Khan not fighting during or shortly after the month of day time fasting that is just BS. Khan has already had lots of fights during or shortly after this fasting period so it doesn't ring true. Mayweather is the A side of any fight and to expect him to change his traditional September fight date to November just for Khan is ridiculous.
Mayweather is not avoiding him. Khan just hasn't done a damn thing in years to deserve a Mayweather fight over other winning fighters. It was funny listening to Khan talk about what a monster Collazo was so he could claim this great victory if he won. Collazo was a mediocre fighter who was unranked by most organizations that rank boxers. Mayweather is big enough now that you should have to be a world champion to fight him. The last 4 guys that fought him were all world champions so why in hell shouldn't Khan have to be a world champion to get a fight with the best fighter and the highest paying fight? Khan may be this boy wonder in the UK but he has mostly been a glass jawed loser lately and one decent performance against an average fighter shouldn't get him the big fight. Let the spoiled egomaniac beat Porter or Thurman if he can and then he will have really earned a Mayweather fight. Till then Mayweather is not ducking Khan but rightfully not fighting him because Khan doesn't deserve the fight.
old man floyd dont want it with the king that is khan
can u imagine what type of fits khans bodywork and speed with give floyd if maidanas bodywork and speed was troubling floyd for 4 rounds?
khan is a far superior and devastating body puncher than maidana
