Floyd has fought in Cleto Reyes before. Think logically, the reason Floyd had the problem with the gloves was because Leonard Ellerbe felt that the custom blue gloves had insufficient padding in the knuckle area. Even though these were the same as the red ones, clearly they had been broken in beforehand hence why they weren't sealed and why the commission DID ban them. The red gloves were approved but now being Floyd with his ego, he's not going to let Maidana use the same type of glove. Its just gamesmanship. Floyd was thinking "if Oscar could do it, so can I". In the initial 2009 contract that Floyd signed, Manny was allowed to wear his Cleto Reyes so he obviously doesn't have a problem with it. Why can't some of you guys do some research...
