First off let me say: Floyd won the fight. IMO it was 115-113. 117-111 was insane and atrocious.
Floyd looked slower, lethargic at times and really struggled with Marcos.
I really think Floyd needs to pick his opponents carefully. Floyd looked great against Canelo and Guerrero? Why? Both are flat footed, Canelo had the worst game plan in the world and let's face it, Guerrero had no shot.
If Floyd fights another "dangerous" opponent IE Lara or Pacquiao; it is very possible he will lose. :blackeye:
Floyd also hasn't faced a fighter with very fast hands in ages. One that's a southpaw. Ortiz is a you know what, and he was putting on a good performance against him.
Proper range will neutralize Manny speed. Ortiz is more of an inside fighter than Manny ever was and ever will be. Apples and oranges. Pacquiao does apply pressure, but it's mid-range pressure where he gives you enough space to set up your counters to catch him on the way him.

He is 37.
You do know that right?
Anyway great fight and great win for Floyd.
Old ass washed up, war torn, bloated, out of shape Erik Morales gave Maidana a boxing lesson and had one eye swollen shut early by Maidana and even rocked Maidana in the fight.
Stop with the lame excuse, he is not slowing down, he has never had brutal wars, he doesn't drain himself, he just got exposed.
Also Floyd beats Pacquiao easy if they ever fight, Pacamn is shot and has a glass chin and no power, speed or stamina anymore

He's rapidly on the decline, but he fought Oscar and Hatton the exact same way and he was in his prime back then. Both of those guys out-muscled him against the ropes and kept him there and outworked him. He will always have problems dealing with fighters who can bully him on the inside. You have to be able to bully him especially if you're the bigger guy and make it an ugly fight, otherwise, he'll just potshots you in the center of the ring and control the fight.
of course he's declined. he's 37 years old. he's been finding himself on the ropes for a while now.
five years ago, mayweather would set up shop in the middle of the ring and land his counterpunches. he ended up having to gut out a fight that he'd dominate in '07.
this happens to virtually every great fighter. if mayweather keeps fighting, he will lose.
i was not expecting him to fall of so quickly, but that's usually how it comes.
A good pressure fighter could always take him to the ropes. It's little wonder he avoided a prime Margo and a prime Cotto. Dude's a scam-artist, picking people to suit his style and avoiding others.
what you're doing is giving this section of the forum a bad name :cool2:
Woah is me for calling it like it is. Don't get your panties in a bunch NE. It's okay. :bottle:
He didn't fight someone that's game plan was to stand right in front of him without throwing anything, and being mesmerized with his little pot shots.
This is what I can't understand that people don't realize or want to acknowledge. Floyd, as faded as people are claiming that he is now, was still able to tag Maidana with combinations that were accurate and blazing fast as soon as Maidana tried to box in the center of the ring. When Maidana had him against the ropes, roughing him up, he was dominant.
It's all about the styles, you can't show Floyd any respect or give him space to work....that's his kryptonite.
EDIT: I'm not saying he hasn't lost a step but throughout his career, the fights he has had even the slightest difficulty have been against guys who have taken the fight to him and roughed him up on the inside.
He just didn't have a referee's protection on the inside.
In the rematch, he'll get a ref like Cortez to break the fighters up every two seconds. Amazing what money can buy.
Nah, brah. I'm just keeping it real. Floyd's lost some, and gained some more. Just calling how I see it.
18-1, brah. 18-1.

lol.
now you're pumping mayweather up. "he's not faded, he's just bad!" "chino exposed him!"
strange stuff :lol1:

18-1 brah, 18-1. For all the speed he's barely lost, his punches have a lot more pop, and his body is a lot stronger, and able to take the punishment. And much more physically stronger.
And his legs being gone is the biggest fallacy ever. He's always been a glider, and not a rabbit style mover like a Pac.
Only time he was really a springy mover was @ 130. Otherwise, he's more of an efficient mover that isn't herky jerky like his "fans" think he is or was.
