Maidana fought as well as he could have and still lost. Nothing he can do better in the second fight except wear the type of gloves he wants but even then he wouldnt be able to hurt Mayweather. It was a good match in that it was close that you dont see at all with Floyd but I didnt think it was a very good fight. Pretty ugly and way too much clinching. I prefer Floyd's typical boxing lessons because thats the type of boxing I prefer.
Then there's the possibility that Mayweather did infact fight with more reckless abandonment to set up a rematch because there is really nobody else to fight in September.
I didn't think Mayweather looked as good as usual. His timing was off. He still landed plenty of lead rights, left hooks and his body work was good in the later rounds.
I don't see what Maidana did that was so impressive. He mauled and smothered Mayweather a lot meaning Floyd couldn't get off as much as he wanted to but he did very little actual clean work of his own.
Hell must have frozen over,I completely agree..Early in the fight I thought Maidana did his best work..Outside of that I thought May dictated and pretty much controlled the fight..It was entertaining, but it was not what many are trying to make it..
Well, it would be nice to see Mayweather fight him in an immediate rematch and not wait until September, but unfortunately fighters today, and especially somebody like Mayweather who likes promoting a big PPV, just won't do that. In essence, there's really nobody else that makes sense for a September fight.
After rewatching it the rematch doesn't seem as appealing but I wouldn't mind, it's a fight that has the likelihood of being a competitive fight and that's not the norm for a Mayweather fight.
I'd much rather see Floyd against Pac, Sergio, or Thurman, but among the guys that Floyd will be willing to consider, I'm definitely excited about a Maidana rematch.
Don't want to see a rematch. Mayweather won the fight cleanly, so I'd rather see him add new names to his resume. Lara, Thurman v Porter winner, Garcia, and Khan v Brook winner (If they're to fight).
Hasn't it already been established that Khan can't make the Sept. date?
I don't really get why he has to fight in Sept. anyway Khan said he'd be ready by late fall.
It could really depend on ppv numbers maybe they think a rematch will exceed whatever they got.
Unless Floyd has really lost his legs/slows down ever more it will likely be similar to the Castillo rematch with him pot-shotting and moving.
Of course Maidana might have something to say about that he's awkward/brutish enough to make it interesting again.
Anyone Floyd fights from this point going forward is going to test him.
Khan has fought during Ramadan before, against a certain breidis Prescott

Seems like he's already made a decision.
It'll be the same fight as last night.
Porters offense looks like it could seriously trouble Floyd. I'm all for that ****.
Sadly it appears Khan is next-up.
That leaping left hook & footspeed makes me think hes a legitimate threat.
Khan could be though with his handspeed and length, never know!
it was a very close fight. Floyd didn't do much either. He didn't even damage maidana. Its fine by me to just move on, i have the feeling the second one is just a waste of time and would be easy for floyd. Make pac-mayweather happen.
i dont want to see it. it will be the same thing again, chino start off strong by throwing loads of punches then slows down and floyd takes over. i seriously want to see amir vs floyd
I wouldn't mind seeing it again but now that Floyd has seen Maidana up close, he'll be better prepared next time around. I just don't see how Maidana will do any better second time around, unless Floyd has aged to the proportions of Roy Jones.
Would prefer to see Mayweather against Thurman or Porter, heck even Khan.
he landed more punches
also the more effective punches
also he landed the most effective ones through out the fight, floyd landed very few solid hits, most of his shots were potshots
but keep ignoring that mate
Mayweather was the one doing all the clean punching. I'm guessing that's what you mean by "solid hits" :lol1:
"Throwing"
"Carrying the Pace"
"Making/Forcing the fight"
"Pressing the action"
The 4 new scoring criteria according to NSB :lol1:

I'd imagine a lot of floyd and amir kahn fans don't want to see him in the ring with maidana again especially if maidana gets to wear the gloves of his choice
